Ardyn Cadeyrn Aodhán Phoenix Adravendi

He had to say, the Bifrost was every bit as pretty as he’d heard, and he was glad he’d come here; it was midnight and the full moon was high, sending shimmers over the white sand. Overhead, Lyr drifted on the ocean breeze, glowing blue-white and red-fire-gold against the starry sky as he clucked in pleasure at the sight.

Ardyn grinned and trotted out onto the sand padding clos to the water and peering in, wondering what might be under there. Maybe he could catch a fish or maybe even a seal to drag home. Or, better yet, process here and then carry home, since from what he’d heard, seals could be big and heavy. Agile in the water but ponderous and slow on land.

For a while, the Destiny trotted southward along the land bridge, scouting a spot before he found one that appealed, roughly half-way to Auster and settled his haunches onto the sand with a flick of his tail. Crouching by the water, he forced himself to become still, holding his breath, or at least trying not to breathe too much. There wasn’t much that he could do about the wind, but his ink black fur settled, flaring under each gust like a low bonfire.

It seemed, though, that fish-brained curiosity wasn’t part of the local psyche, and he straightened with a shake and a deep breath, frowning at the water before twisting and pulling a wad of cordage from one of his pouches. If he couldn’t catch one the old-fashioned way, he’d just have to try something else.

One eye on the water, he untangled the wad, then prepared to start fashioning what he hoped would be a good net.

Walk ---- "Speak" ---- "Labhair an Sean-Teanga." ---- "Hear" ---- Think

Ardyn's family (Red, Aurielle, Siblings, Valhalla) are allowed to crash threads, regardless of private tags.

Ardyn at first glance is as black as can be imagined with a raven sheen.

Closer inspection proves that he shimmers in fire tones in every hair on his hide right down to his lashes.

More obviously, he glows like a bed of coals and flames with every movement and brush of fur. His tail is usually wagging, so blazes like a torch.

His adult teeth are in and his saber canines have grown to their full length (see profile). His mane and tail hair have grown to full length, as well as being lightweight and easily buffeted by breezes.

A look at his front paws will give the impression of hands, with his dew claw dropped low and lengthened into a functioning thumb, and his toes elongated into fingers. He has retractable, solid black cat-like claws on every paw.

Ardyn has developed a glowing mast of intricate markings in fire and ice colors over his face, symmetrical over the last seasons of Year 17 (see profile for details). During hunts or raids/sieges, he will smudge them out with black soot to cover the glow, otherwise, they are bright enough to note at first direct glance at his face. Not all his artwork currently portrays the mask markings.

He is also often bedecked in beads, small bells, feathers in blues, ribbons and braids thanks to the Ooze Event of Halloween 2021, and the Coathanger item that he got. The accessories generally are seen most in his mane and tail hair. He removes the brighter items and bells for hunts or battle.

A bridge. That’s all it was. The water lapped at its edges , almost invitingly but there she stood, not giving in just yet. The bridge was not necessarily narrow, but it wasn’t overly wide either. If someone else were on the bridge there would be space but not enough if they weren’t friendly. Ears slanted back at the thought of meeting yet another unfriendly wolf. Still, the lands were larger on the other side and they called to the she-wolf. A heavy sigh and the dark coated wolf moved forward. It was a risk she was going to have to take eventually. Might as well get it over with.

Warm sand spread beneath her paws, wiggling between her toes as she walked quietly and quickly across the bridge. Purple eyes darted from the water and sand to the stretch ahead, occasionally looking over her shoulder to see if she was being followed. The bridge wasn’t nearly as long as she expected, it wasn’t long before she could see the distant shore and she almost breathed a sigh of relief- and she would have, if her eye hadn’t caught the motion of another wolf up ahead. A low groan would rumble in her chest, but she pressed on. She had no choice, after all. She had come too far to turn back now…maybe they were friendly, and if not….well maybe she could outrun them.

Ridiculously long and slender legs carried her closer, head dropping low protectively as she moved to the opposite side of the bridge, giving the other as much space as possible. Nostrils flared to pull in the scent of the wolf, and she nearly let another low rumble burst to life in her chest. Of course it was a male wolf. Great. Originally, she had thought he was black, but as she got closer she could see the shifting of reds in his fur and was intrigued, almost as much as she was by the wad of cordage that he had carried with him. Ears came forward and head cocked to the side, her stride faltering as she struggled with the idea of asking what he was doing or moving along. “Umm…What…are you doing?” She asked at long last. Soft vocals were gentle and curious, not fully seeming to match the scarred up, long legged body it came from.

Rook wasn’t entirely foolish, her body was positioned to run if necessary, her legs not stopping til she was parallel with his own body, giving her a better chance of escaping the huge furry wolf with the long teeth if he proved to be unfriendly.

Ardyn Cadeyrn Aodhán Phoenix Adravendi

He managed, finally, to make the first few rows of net, tongue poking from between his teeth as he concentrated. If he didn't get it right, he was pretty sure the fish would break right through... if there even were fish in range.

A scuff of paws in sand sent his ears flicking forward, fiery light flaring in the downy fur about their bases as his mismatched eyes lifted from the fledgling fishing net to find a black and white wolf, tall and lightly built. She was a yearling, yet his quick glance took in her scars. Well, at least it wasn’t just him getting in brawls, though hers looked like it could have been other wolves instead of bears and mountain lions. She was cautious, visibly so, and he couldn't blame her one bit.

Her question brought a quick grin to his features, sabers glinting slightly, both in his own personal light and the moonlight as Lyr drifted down to land on the white sands beside him, head tipping to regard the girl with his blue eye, glowing plumage ruffling as he settled his wings.

“A fishing net.” Ardyn lifted the one-thirds completed project in his nimble-fingered front paws, displaying it and nodding toward the water.

“The fish don’t seem stupid enough or curious enough to investigate an odd light on the surface, so maybe I can catch them with this when it’s done.”

His tail torched, long hair whipping the sand in a flurry of fiery light, friction kindling the show as he added, “I’m Ardyn Adravendi, Destiny of Valhalla, a pack in the west of the content to the north of us.”

Lyr clucked and Ardyn added, "This is my friend, Lyr. We've been friends since we were quite young."
