Fidelias stretched his body, a body that gave the impression of burly strength despite adolescent lankiness, before he hopped down from his sentry position atop the wall. Standing sentry suited him, and even as a puppy he'd taken it very seriously as he stood watch beside his mother and then alone from six months and up, interspersed with patrolling as he got older. The solemnity of the duty, protecting the pack and his family, appealed to him from the start. He didn't have his siblings' or his mothers' wanderlust - didn't like to leave the pack boundaries at all, though he ventured out to visit his nomadic father as a dutiful son should. He'd long since grown used to the oddity of his family compared to others in the pack and it didn't bother him, but he still always felt awkward being outside of the pack lands. Like he was doing something wrong, even when he wasn't.
He wondered idly where his siblings were today - wandering, or in Valhalla territory? He certainly didn't mind their ocassional disappearances, it was simply part of who they were, but it did make it difficult to keep track of them sometimes. And, when they were feeling feisty, if you didn't keep track of them you were liable to get knocked over, or your face licked, or your ears nipped, if you let Kaija catch you unaware. He wasn't sure if the thought had made him imagine Kaija's scent, but he paused, suddenly wary and ready to brace himself for a possible loving assault.

Kaija was feeling unusually somber today, which was a mood highly unusual for the normally boisterous yearling. Any bad moods were generally short-lived, disappearing as quickly as they came, and while she wasn't feeling all that bad she still felt positively bummed out. She hadn't seen Arne in awhile now, and though she assumed he'd just gone off on a little adventure, her most recent visit with their father proved that he hadn't gone to see him. Fidelias was always around though, which served to lighten her mood even if deterred from his. Kaija was especially bad at telling when she irritated others; she tended to not be terribly empathetic, not for lack of caring but simply because she wasn't wired that way.
And because of that, she would usually take her brother's sprawled position as an open invitation to pounce. Today tackling him seemed less fun though, so instead she sauntered over, not bothering to hide the sound of her paws against the ground. "Hey Del," she greeted him lazily as she drew up and forced a little grin his direction. "Whatcha up to today? Want to find something to do?" Anything to stop herself from sitting around and thinking about things and, god forbid, feeling things. Doing things was much, much easier for her.
