Location: Ibis Islands

Duchess could see the island from the mainland with it's mountain tops along the coast. She swam easily with Segin, it seemed they manged traveling pretty well. She wasn't completely sure if he didn't like the ocean water like Indigo, but Indigo also had a lot of mane to dry and clean out. When they made it to the shore of the island, Duchess shook her coat out like she usually did after the swim from the mainland. What she noticed first was the palm trees of the island, and the plentiful of birds that occupied the trees and island. She started to move forward inland, looking for Segin to make sure he was still close to her.

"Duchess"

The swim out to this set of islands wasn't a bad one and once they reached the shore and he had a moment to shake the salt water out of his fur he was glad they made the trip. Looking around, it felt like they had walked into a tropical paradise full of palm trees. He followed along beside Duchess as they started to move forward into the island, moving through the tropical trees with his silver gaze lifted curiously toward their frond tipped branches. He spotted the colorful splash of feathers and he slowed his steps, nudging Duchess' shoulder with his down and giving her a grin as he lifted a paw to point out the macaw he had spotted. He had never seen a bird quite as colorful as this one and the island seemed to be full of all kinds of unusual birds.

Segin Epsilon

Duchess looked at Segin when he poked at her, and then realized that he was pointing out one of the birds. She may have been an avid traveler, but lately she seemed to be missing out on the most beautiful of things. Indigo had pointed out the beauty around them, and Segin was too.

She smiled and admired the bird for a few seconds, before starting back up in steps more inland. She was surprised to see the cave entrances once they got so close to the mountains of the island, and she supposed it would suffice for a good refuge if they ever needed one. She walked into the mouth of one of the caves, carefully stretching her nose into it to just glance and see if the cave was deep or shallow. She was greeted by only a couple eyes peeking out at her from the cave ceiling, but the bats easily went back into their sleep while she and Segin didn't disturb them. She went to move on towards on of the rivers that flowed through the island. And her only big thought was that this may have been a great place to set camp for the band in some far away future.

"Duchess"

Segin followed Duchess through the island as they continued on with their exploration of the island after discovering some of the colorful birds that called it home and walked with her toward one of the caves that they had spotted. This whole island seemed to be filled with life and all sorts of natural formations of various kinds. It was a little piece of paradise and he was quite enjoying it so far. They had explored so many different places that he was able to make a short list of the places that he would want to come back to and which ones he wouldn't and so far this one was on the "need to visit again" list.

He stood just behind Duchess as she poked her head in one of the caves, his ears perking with surprise when the eye shine of a bunch of bats hanging from the dining of the cave caught his attention. Luckily as they shifted away from the den quietly they seemed to settle once more and he was able to breathe a sigh of relief, giving Duchess a little smile. "I don't know about you, but bats kind of creep me out," he said with a chuckle as they walked toward the river.

Segin Epsilon

Duchess chuckled a little as Segin mentioned the bats being a little creepy, "Yeah, I wouldn't want to nestle up in the cave with them either." They moved on towards the river that flowed through the center of the largest island here and she supposed it moved out into the ocean. It had her wondering how fresh the water was, or how the fresh water flowed out into the salty ocean water. Either way the island was beautiful with the birds, trees, and other plant life here. "This would be a great place to camp for the band sometime." Though the travel out here was a little strenuous being an island, they would probably just have to extend their stay for a little longer than usual. Living on an island seemed more protected though.

"Duchess"

Segin nodded in agreement as Duchess mentioned that this would be a good place for the band to reside at some point. That was the nice thing about being a free roaming band like they were. They could move from beautiful place to beautiful place and never get bored of their surroundings. For wolves like him and Duchess this was fantastic for their love of exploration and he never got bored of seeing these beautiful landscapes. "I agree. We should definitely mention it to Indigo when we get back." He certainly wouldn't mind spending an extended period of time on the island and it seemed to have all the necessary makings of a camp. "I'm not sure if there's any special resources to be had here or not, but even if it's just like a vacation to relax on the island for a while... That seems like a good time." He gave Duchess a smile before he went on to keep exploring the island for a bit more before they headed back, wondering what other island paradises they might find in their travels.
