Skadi was having the best of luck this week. For the second time in a row she'd stumbled across a wounded deer. She didn't know who was running around breaking deer legs but she certainly wasn't going to complain. An easy(er) meal was an easy(er) meal. And she needed to practice her skinning and tanning, and deer were a good size for that. She really needed to get a companion with hands that would make the process so much easier. But in the meantime? Practice, practice, practice.

This deer was moving a bit faster than the last one she'd found. Once she'd scared it out of the brush it had taken off at a pretty good clip and quickly left her behind. Granted, she wasn't really trying at this point, but it was fast. Like the other she was going to need some help to ensure she didn't get a swift set of heels to the face. And the best way to make sure she got the help she wanted was to bark about it. So that's what she did. Skadi would accept any and all helpers.

Being back home felt nice. Everything was still where it should be, including the barn that stood crumbling in the Range. It had managed to stand against the grip of time all these years, and he had half a mind to try and do what he could to keep it standing. No doubt the rest of the pack felt the same way, and no doubt they had already started work to keep it standing with repairs. He was heading that way now for a better inspection when he heard barking. The voice was unfamiliar, but as he drew closer, he spotted the telltale signs of a Saxe child. And the scent? His dad's...this kid was obviously related to him, and no doubt his father had mingled with someone and the end result was her and the others he'd scented in the pack. Well, he supposed now was a good a time as any to try and get to know his newish siblings.

Drawing closer, he noted she was chasing down an injured deer, and Ares grinned as he made a beeline for it. While the kid was significantly smaller than him, he was all bulk and muscle and could easily tackle the runaway deer. That's exactly what he aimed to do. Like a linebacker, he charged towards the deer and tackled it with full force, sending it flying off to the side and crashing to the ground. "Get it before it gets up!" He exclaimed. He had thrown it further than he intended, but hey, he wasn't opposed to playing with food, either.
