Expecting The Unexpected

Jynn was headed south back to Auster, taking in a few more sights as she went. In particular she wanted to visit the Redwater Rocks again and do a little more exploring of the canyons the area contained. As she walked the bottom she came to a particularly narrow canyon of pale sandstone. She had to squeeze her way through parts of it but it was well worth the effort for she found a large tree growing out of a hole in the canyon floor. It seemed to be some sort of scraggly pine with clumps of olive green needles adorning branches here and there. If she had to guess she'd say it was a bristlecone pine. Deep teal water filled the spring-fed pond it was growing out of and as she stepped closer she could see a number of odd little green plants growing at the pools edge.
