Winter Shadows

Her eyes stayed focused and watched the land around her, topaz pools shining with the sunlight as she shook the small parts of snow off of her pelt. The fae could hear the last few remaining birds fly off to the south and she howled out.She liked the winter for it was her birth season. A sigh escaped her mouth as she approached a frozen river and lapped up some of the water that stuck out of the frozen pond.

She yawned and lied down, listening to the sounds of wildlife that surrounded her with its chorus. A sigh came through once more as she closed her eyes.
