Reporting on my Research

Kotori was quite proud of his idea and taking action on his own.  He was also tired.  It hadn’t been that long ago he’d spent most of his time a free spirit galivanting from spot to spot and checking out the world.  Now he was working on protecting the pack in this insanity, looking after Ikigai in their location and then setting up all those snares.  It was more work than he’d ever done and on top of that, it was just emotionally taxing.  Walking through the pack he kept some distance from the other pack members.  Nothing personal but he didn’t want to catch whatever the majority had.

Sleep would happen soon but first he let his nose lead him to where Azure was.  If Kotori was going to do all this work dang straight he was making sure others knew was doing it.  Kotori wasn’t sure what he wanted for himself someday but it wasn’t to stay on the bottom rung of the ranks for sure.  As a prince it was natural he’d want a higher-up station.  Sure, prince was high on its own merit but getting respect by title and earning it was different things.  Kotori wanted both.  Did he want to lead the pack?  He hadn’t decided, didn’t even know if he wanted to be next in line but he did want to make sure no one was stupid enough to think they were better than a Fatalis.

Once he spotted Azure he trotted up to his brother and quietly waited to be noticed.  Sure, it was being respectful, it was also just still not having decided how he felt about the dead not being dead. Kotori had never gotten to know this brother very well.  At one point he had wanted to as all the siblings his age had been girls so he had wanted to look up to big brother Mort and big brother Azure.  Both had gone off and done their own thing for a time so Kotori had dropped that interest eventually.
