The pain was worse than anything Kaija could've imagined. Whatever had been sticking out of her eye - and she was pretty sure she knew exactly what it'd been - was gone, at least for now, but the pain that Azure had caused by removing it had been excruciating. Not only that, but now she shouldn't see anything, nothing at all. The world was dark, not the sort of dark she'd been getting used to, but totally dark - and she was afraid. Like, wanted her mom and dad kind of afraid. Fear wasn't something she wasn't used to experiencing and it left her feeling hopeless and small. She'd left Azure and whoever he'd been talking to as quickly as she could. She felt something sticky and warm trailing down her face, coating her cheeks, likely a mixture of blood and goo and spit. And maybe some tears, though Kaija would never rightfully admit that she'd been crying, not to anyone.

What else was she to do, though? She'd been robbed of her sight and she didn't know if it'd ever come back. Her movements were jerky and unsteady as she wandered the forest, swiping shakily at the ground in front of her before each step. Her ears were perked, twitching and searching for any sign of anyone nearby. She wanted to be alone - no, needed to be alone - until the pain began to subside and she could figure out what else to do. Another sob threatened to slip from her throat and she choked it back with a soft growl, taking another few slow steps forward and narrowing avoiding the thick trunk of a willow tree in the process.
