CAUSE YOU CAN'T GET INTO HEAVEN

Taking any opportunity to venture out and see what was out there, the youngster was ranging ever further from the whelping den. Pallid form caught the gentle glow of the thick fog and the dancing lights all around them, casting faint shadows across his form with each movement. Head and tail high, there was very little to fear for the youngster as far as he was concerned. Moving with slow, measured strides, he swung each paw carefully to ensure he didn't trip over the long black talons that protruded from each delicate toe. Viscera stopped frequently to look at anything that caught his attention, which was often one of the glowing crystals or mushrooms that his mama had warned the children not to get close to. However, the boy itched to investigate them in earnest. To get up close and personal, maybe throw them around a little. However, for now he wasn't eager to incur mama's ire. With the thick fog that blanketed the ground, and his diminutive stature, all he saw were the things that cropped up as he passed. The rocky, uneven terrain around the base of the volcano was coal dark and difficult to navigate with so little experience.

A small shower of pebbles clattering down the slope caught his ear, and immediately the child was off like a shot. What had made that sound? Those sharp talons were perfect for gripping the larger rocks as he scrambled over them, until he was closing in on a strange, glowing creature. Mama had warned him about the animals too, but the rat was fleeing and it was beyond his ability to have that kind of self control. Yipping with delight, he ran down the agile rodent after a decidedly long pursuit. Cornered against a sheer boulder, it couldn't turn to flee around the stone in time, and he was upon it. Long claws sinking deep into bioluminescent flesh kept the oversized rat from escaping. The poor, exhausted animal cried out shrilly and thrashed about. It teeth caught the tender, virgin flesh of his right forelimb and broke the skin easily. He couldn't stop the gasp that was torn from him, or the tears that welled up in his eyes. With a pitchy snarl of outrage, he latched onto the vulnerable back of the rat and bit down as hard as he could. Blood welled hot and coppery on his tongue, and the struggling began to peter out. He released the rat's back, and then flexed his toes to dig those long talons in deeper, pulling it closer to his body.

This time he sunk his needle-sharp teeth into the upper back, just above the shoulders, and the rat fell limp. The screeching ceased, and the silence that stretched on afterward felt horribly empty. His ears were ringing lightly, but even that began to give way to the subtle ambiance of volcanic vents releasing steam, rocks settling after the struggle, the distant sounds of nearby wolves going about their usual lives. He pulled his claws from the cooling carcass, and found himself covered in the glowing violet fluids of his messy kill. Obsidian and ruby gems turned furtively to the surrounding landscape, hoping against all hope that his mama wasn't nearby to catch him breaking the rules as soon as she let him out of her sight.

Carnage was bored and hungry to find something to grasp her attention. The days were becoming dull and she had yet to be infected with sickness. Did this make her immune? or simply lucky? The babe was careful and calculated in her steps, avoiding the unusual growing crystals and mushrooms which disturbed her path. Her icy gaze would would quickly scan the terrain, the thick fog making it harder to see those who lurked by, just as the yearling was about to leave the pack lands and go explore, a little figure in the distance quickly caught her attention. How old were her siblings? Already big and adventurous enough to leave the den? For now Carnage would remain silent and observe, quietly the girl would follow the pup, wondering what had caught the youngsters eye as he bounded ahead. A wicked smile would kiss her ebony lips as she watched the little chase. He ran ahead, his mind set and determined to get his little target.

The Rodent would squeal in pain as her brother decided to to play a little game. Sounds about right. The Recluse children all seemed to have grown sinister tendencies in their own way and Carnage for one was here to encourage it. As the cries stopped at the area suddenly felt silent Carnage would stand behind the boy, a laugh escaping. "It would seem you'd make quite the hunter little one" she would say before attempting to circle him, as if to inspect Recluses creation. Most of the siblings weren't pleased about the new arrivals, but Carnage for one was keen to see how they would all turn out. In fact, she thought it was great that the empire had future soldiers to strengthen the family. She briefly admired his ruby stained coat, his innocence already looking tainted.
"hmmm... Why do I feel like you should be doing something that you shouldn't?" The yearling didn't even ask for his name. Since their birth she didn't make much effort to go and see them nor ask for their names, a simply glance would do just fine.

CAUSE YOU CAN'T GET INTO HEAVEN

Sure enough, he was spotted. The pale figure of an older wolf cut through the thick mists that blanketed the landscape, cerulean gaze trained upon his smaller form, glimmering with amusement. A quiet peal of laughter escaped her, and he recognized her as one of his older siblings. She complimented his hunting skills, triggering a flare of pride deep in his chest. Yeah, he was going to grow up to be big and strong, and make his family proud. Mismatched gaze followed her movements as she languidly traipsed in a loose circle around him, eyes sharp and calculating. He pushed his shoulders back, lifted his chin. There was no way he would fold under her critical attention. When she finally stopped before him once more, gentle lyrics fell from her maw to quickly cut to the truth of the matter. The young spectre had most certainly been caught red handed.

"... mama said not to mess with the glowing stuff, but I guess I forgot until now." he admitted with a furrow of his brows, hooking one long talon into the cooling flesh of the rat's flank and giving it a halfhearted tug. For a moment, his gaze dropped to follow the movements of the dead rat caught in his grasp. The carcass rolled limply onto its back, spilling more gore onto the dark stone and staining the boy's pallid forepaws with yet more of the glowing fluids. "Are you gonna snitch on me?" he asked as his eyes flicked back up to her alabaster features, tracing the subtle mocha spots that dappled her cheek. There was a certain hardness to his youthful vocals that warned of the possible ire that might be wrought forth if she admitted to such intent. He wouldn't hesitate to turn nasty in a moment, if it might get him what he wanted.

The lady would watch her brother silently, bemused as he would strengthen his posture and hold his head high in pride. All the siblings took different skills and her gut told her perhaps this one would follow her steps in becoming a hunter and fighter for the pack. Carnage was proud to be a Klein and she wanted them all to grow up to be strong and fearless, they all needed to start early. Her siblings lives had only just begun and in the short space of time all they had known is to grow in some weird plague, with the wolves becoming infected and the days always murky. The babe wondered if they would ever see normality again. The pup would break the silence as he admitted their mother had warned them away, and of course, the temptation simply became too much. Her smile would remain upon her dark lips, knowing all too well that once they were told not to do something they wanted to do it that much more. She watched as he would go back to playing with his little prize between his paws, innocently toying with it before questioning whether she would switch.

She would let out a sigh, pretending as if it were a hard choice as to whether to get him in trouble. When really, she cared little for their anticts as long as they werent foolish. " I won't tell..." She would hum, before slowly beginning to walk up the volcanoe, assuming he would come follow. " Though you must remember this... you owe me." She would chuckle playfully, all in due time would she ask her brother to complete a little task or mission.

CAUSE YOU CAN'T GET INTO HEAVEN

The soft sigh that escaped her inky lips, with the slight furrow of her brows to indicate that she was putting great thought into her decision, seemed to bode well for him. The champagne child watched the fae intently, mismatched gaze trained on her features. Finally she informed him that she would keep quiet, and began to move in a rolling and languid gait up the rocky slope towards the peak of the volcano. She did warn, as they walked along, that he would owe her for this. Slate streaked features twisted into a small frown as he considered his, but he decided it probably wouldn't be the worst thing. With a small shrug, he kept up his pace beside her. "I guess so." he replied simply, and then let his attention wander as he followed along beside her.

"I'm Viscera Klein, who are you?" he asked her, though he was too wrapped up in taking in the sights of the crystals clustered along the volcanic slopes. They all glowed in a thousand different hues, and as they drew close the rhythm with which that light pulsed seemed to flicker and dance to a new beat. It was so strange and amazing. His first kill was all but forgotten, his interest now firmly upon the pale she wolf and the little adventure she was taking him along for now.

As the girl would walk steadily up the Volcano, she wondered if any of her other siblings would join... though unlikely. with the weird plague that were going on everyone seemed more distant and careful. She didn't mind much, as the days flew by she become comforted in her silence and her thoughts. Wolves were less likely to get on her last nerves and quite frankly, she was still figuring out her next moves. The pup quietly agreed to owe her and she couldn't wait to see the day. Though, it was clear it was all just for fun, she was proud to see that she witnessed his first kill. As the boy followed her up the Volcano he would take in the surroundings, looking in particular at the crystals. " You know, you came into the world at the most unusual time... those crystals aren't natural... they don't belong here." She would say shortly, though not explaining any further, perhaps this was the new world. Not as clean. He introduced himself and though was was aware of her siblings, their names didn't quite stick. She would stay silent for a little longer as she reached the top, checking occasionally if he were still there. Wendigo loved it up here, the illumious orange liquid brought him such joy, perhaps due to the chaos it could bring. As she were at the top, she tread carefully, carefully not to injure herself and wondering if it were a good idea to bring a pup so young. atleast he was occupied. " I'm Carnage Klein, your sister. It's nice to finally meet you, though be warned... your place has to be earned, not all the other siblings would be quite as welcome." She would pause, watching his reaction. " Especially if you could be seen as competition. "Carnage would shrug, she saw their family as a strong unit rather than competing and she wondered who from the second litter would gain their mothers favor
