After cleaning and getting the deer they'd hunted earlier home, Grimshaw was pleased to be heading out on an additional hunt. He might not be friends with the other young man, but they hunted well enough together and Grimshaw was at least somewhat glad to have some company and a hunting partner. Their travels were quiet however as they journeyed back into the willows for another round of hunting. This time he wouldn't ask the guy for another hunt when they were finished here, but instead he would branch off on his own. For now, though, Grimshaw was hot on the fresh trail of some wild pigs.

Their prints were very fresh and following them was easy. However, there was a mass of pigs instead of just a few and so once they had finally found the group, Grimshaw's silver eyes scanned around looking for the easiest, most attainable pig to wrestle down. Although they weren't weak, he didn't want to target after a boar. There were a lot of pigs here so they were better off getting an older adult, someone whom was slower and less likely to put up a fight before the boar could get to them.

Grimshaw motioned towards an older female that was slightly off from the group and towards the boar at the other end of the group. If he could cut the female off and lead her in a direction away from the group, then the boar would be slowed by the amount of pigs he'd have to move through and that was only if he noticed. Grimshaw told Kotori his plan, that he was going to sneak in and cut the female pig off from the group. Then, Kotori could come in and help him bring it down.

Once it was understood, Grim set off towards the female pig quietly. Once he was close, he burst into speed to shock it and separate it from the group. As the pig squealed in alarm, Grimshaw hoped Kotori took that as a sign to start his chase.

"Speech."

Kotori nodded though a part of him questioned the plan internally.  Pigs were more dangerous and thought about sneaking upon it at the same time as Grimshaw instead of waiting but he’d let the other wolf lead this time.  It’s not like Kotori had a lot of experience with boars.  With an inward sigh of unwanted patience, he waited.

Grimshaw started an official chase, the pig squealed and Kotori ran after them.  The other boars got a wary gaze but while there was chaos amongst them none chose to try and attack either Grim or himself.  He ran up alongside the pig, the opposite side Grimshaw was on.  They had much shorter legs than the deer and their body was like a ball of fat.  Kotori bit at the pig's shoulder, then swung wide as it didn’t continue to just run but instead swung its head around to try and skewer Kotori with its tusks.  Still, it kept moving forward so Kotori stayed nearby.

If that thing wanted to turn its head about it meant the two wolves should be able to easily take it when it looked away from one wolf.


Kotori Fatalis

 

Kotori didn't fail and was quick to catch up to them and make his attack on the pig. His jaws had made purchase on the animals shoulder, but the pig was quick to turn its head towards them in an attempt to dislodge the wolf. In that moment that the pigs head was turned away, Grimshaw lunged and dug his sharpened teeth into the neck of the pig. A scream would erupt from the swine as it turned its head towards it's new attacker and aimed to dislodge him now. Grim felt the scrape of its tusk graze his flesh and he let go before the animal would be able to get a better blow in. His pace continued alongside the pig then, aiming his jaws downward to snap at the pigs moving feet to give Kotori more time landing the final blow.

"Speech."

Grimshaw had taken the opportunity to strike while the pig had paid its attention to Kotori.  Even after Kotori nodded when Grimshaw got its attention once more with a bite.  Kotori was done playing with the animal.  He shoved his body weight into it, finding it a lot more solid than most things he slammed into.  Still, it had him pressed up straight into it.  Kotori sunk his fangs into the pigs neck, biting in deep, the blood pouring freely.

The pig tried to turn its head again.  Kotori would trust Grimshaw to either divert its attention or if the pig could even turn its head enough with the way Kotori had hold of its throat.  Kotori pressed his weight onto the pig, digging his teeth in deeper until the pig started shrieking and thrashing more.  Kotori kept his grip on it, knowing Grimshaw would be able to take it on easily as well know.

The pig was stalled and soon enough between the two wolves, it fell down.  After that Kotori was able to bite under its neck, life’s blood spilling out of it.  Another successful hunt! "Hah, we did it"
