The day is beautiful! Everything is bright and intriguing as the small pup wanders around in front of the den. Seere doesn’t know if she supposed to be out here but she doesn’t really care. The world is huge! And she needs to explore it! Her nose pokes under a bush, looking for anything strange or usually. To be fair, Seere is new to the world and, at this point, everything is strange and unusual. Still, can’t find things if you don’t go looking! Nose works over time as Seere walks about, occasionally tripping over her paws as she gets further and further from the den. Okay, yes, the world is bigger when you are that small but still, it seems like a great distance to her!

Something rustles in the bushes nearby and duel-toned eyes latch onto the spot. Small body hunkers down as she tries to stealthily get closer. The bush rustles again, eyes widening in anticipation of what could be there. Whatever it is, it is getting closer. And Seere is ready for it! She is ready to pounce on whatever comes through the bush. Or… so she hopes.

Saia was certainly feeling adventurous as she got more mobile. She was well behaved but she liked to test her limits. How far or how many times would she need to be told no before the foot was dropped? She definitely knew there were more strict limitations and expectations, but she would get along those bumps when she came across them.

Only venturing a short ways away from the royal dens, what was allowed, she spotted her only sister Seere crouching down ready to pounce on something in the bushes. A mischievous grin went across her maw, she was definitely having the thought of ruining her sister's plans.

Quietly approaching Seere, though maybe not silent with her large uneven steps, she stood behind her sister before blurting, "What are you doing down there?!' Could she act like it was an accident? Probably not. But whatever Seere was after in the bushes was definitely gone by now.

A small gray butt wiggles in anticipation, waiting for the deadly beast that lurks in the bush to poke its head out. She is ready to take it down. Just when she spies two long ears through the leaves, a rather loud voice speaks up from behind Seere, sending the pup tumbling forward, with a rather indignant squeak, and sends the rabbit bounding away. Landing on her back in the small bush, the monochromatic pup glares up at her sister and huffs, “Sai!! I almost had that creature! I was big and scary!” Rolling onto her stomach and standing, Seere makes a rather loud exit from the bush while saying, “Who knows what evil things it was doing? You might of just let a spy in!” Mismatched eyes stare at her bigger sister, the frustration written plainly in the downturned lips and sulking eyes.

Shaking out her small coat, Seere yawns and adds a stretch, saying, “I’m surprised your awake. Thought you’d still be sleeping.” A mischievous grin plays across her lips, as she tries to tease her older sibling. But she does follow up by asks, “Whatca ya doing out here anyway? I thought only I knew of this place.” Sure, the bush is only few feet from the palace and sure, tons of wolves walk through here but Seere was pretty sure that her siblings had not found this particular spot… yet.

Saia drew back slightly as Seere flopped over in the bushes, raising a brow when she spoke about the rabbit and how it could have been a spy and she just let the whole pack be in danger because of it. Saia was good at hiding that slight bit of fear that what Seere had said was true. But she was quick to brush away that internal thought, "It was probably just a bird, Seere." She spoke as if she was better than her sister, though that wasn't really her intention. Saia had lived the same life beside her big loving family, and probably didn't know much more about the world than Seere did.

Seere peaked her interest though when she said she thought she was the only one who knew of this place. Scoffing at the comment of thinking she'd be asleep, Saia went on with her challenge, "I know of many places." She raised a brow again as her paws started to trail in the slowest steps towards the beach almost egging Seere to follow her, "I bet you wouldn't cross the bridge to the other island." There were many bridges attached to their palace, but she was just talking about the closet one to Dove Island. They probably weren't allowed to cross the land bridges to other islands without their parents, but Saia didn't care much about that. Not for the means of adventure and traveling.

When Saia brushes off her spy as a bird, Seere scoffs loudly and says, “Nah uh! I know birds. Birds don’t have long ears that are fuzzy!” The tone that her sister uses is lost on the monochromatic pup. Born without a mean bone in her body and never having thought herself above any of her siblings, Seere interprets the tone as something being wrong with Saia. Brows furrow as she closely inspects her red and black sibling, eventually deciding nothing is amiss.

Mismatched eyes move to catch Saia’s dual toned gaze with her own, offering her older sister a wide smile and a happy wag of her tail. Then, Seere’s mouth falls open at Saia’s claim of knowing many places. The older sibling raises her brow and starts to slowly move away from the monochromatic pup. Words are spoken and a bet is laid. Mouth snaps shut as the smaller pup says confidently, “I would too! But… are we allowed to?” Even as she speaks, the smaller pup moves to fall in step with her older sister. She tries to project an air of confidence she does not feel as she follows her sister. Well… Saia says it is okay, then it has to be… right? Wide mismatched eyes look at the bridge the two girls are heading toward, fear starting to slowly creep into her brain.

Saia huffed a quiet laugh as Seere comes to follow behind her. "I don't know." She stated, though their last rule was to stay in sight of their parents but it seemed they had outgrown that. Maybe it was expected of them to stay on the royal chambers island, at least Saia had known better. It wasn't like they were going outside of the pack though, so what was so wrong with heading off into other parts of Ashen?

"We are safe inside the pack lands, right?" She questioned but more so in a way that she knew. But no, she couldn't know for sure. Predators could lurk in the waters or if they had made it to the mainland than a trespasser could come and scoop them up. Those were not things on her mind right now.

Making it to the land bridge that moved across the water to Dove island. She squinted carefully towards the island, trying to make out the multitude of birds flying around the trees but she would need a closer look. She turned her cheek towards her sister, wondering and hoping she would follow with her. It wouldn't be fun otherwise. Without another word, Saia started to walk confidently across the wide land bridge, "Are you coming then?" She teased, trying to tempt Seere to go beyond their possible boundaries, full intent on being rebellious even if they were allowed to wander further.

Seere keeps pace with her sister as they move toward the land bridge, uncertainty crossing her features as she glances back toward the tunnel that leads to their den. Saia talks about them being safe in pack lands and the monochrome pup nods trying to shake the worry that lodges in her gut. But this is her sister! She would never lead her into danger or make her do something that could get them into trouble… right? The logic seems to comfort her and the happy bounciness returns to her steps. But then they are standing in front of the land bridge and Seere’s enthusiasm falters. Duel-toned eyes glance at her sister as Saia squints at the island ahead of them. The small pup bites her lip as Saia starts to make her way confidently across the bridge.

Turning her head to look back at the den, Seere’s teeth sink a little deeper into her lip, a whine building in her chest and working its way up into throat as it works to escape. Saia’s teasing voice reaches the monochromatic girl’s ears and she looks back to where her sister is crossing. She reminds herself that it is Saia and she loves her sister. Swallowing down the whine that had lodged in her throat, Seere quickly moves to rejoin her sister. Pulling up beside her, Seere asks, “Do you think there are creatures that can eat us on the island?” The thought has her smaller frame moving closer to Saia, hoping that her sister’s bravery will rub off on her. Everything about her speaks of nervousness as the pair make their way toward the strange new island.

Saia did actually feel a little bad when she looked back and saw her sister so scared. She didn't show her own concern though. Instead kept walking forward on the land bridge every once in a while feeling the ocean tide pull up over her toes and go back into the body of water where it belonged. Saia was not so scared as Seere was, she was much more eager to see what was on the other island.

Seere asked if there could be something on the other island that could eat them, and nonchalantly Saia shrugged her shoulders while still looking forward at their destination. "Eh, maybe. But someone should be patrolling though." Like that would give her sister any more comfort.

They had made it to the other end of the bridge, all of the land around them open and seemingly undifferent from their home island. Saia didn't move any further onto Dove island, just stayed on the land bridge near the beaches and looked up at the trees. She glanced over to her sister, and whether she was still frightened or not Saia decided the torment could end there. "Okay, we've seen it. We can go back now."

Seere follows in her sister’s wake, every small sound making her jump and shy away as they move over the land bridge. Wide eyes dart from side to side alert for danger that hides behind every… um… well okay there is nothing to hide behind on this strip of sand but she is ready for it! Saia is the brave one, boldly strolling along, unafraid of anything. She also has the answer for everything and Seere nods at the statement of someone patrolling. How does she know these things? The world is new to the monochrome pup and the way things work are a mystery.

Paws finally touch this new island and Saia stops to look around while her more timid sister tilts her head back to sniff at the air, scenting for… anything.  Saia announces that they can go back now but Seere’s attention is caught by a strange smell. Mismatched eyes jump to a large bush where a flash of fur and tail disappear. She yells out, “Saia I think there is something is over there!” The pup wants to make family proud, to show them that she is not afraid (even though she is terrified) and so, the monochrome pup races after the retreating form, ready to fight off whatever she finds.
