Waiting game
for Aryn

Though he'd dragged Aryn back home, Veigar hadn't seen her since they'd arrived. Part of him knew exactly what sort of welcome would be waiting for her once she'd ushered him away upon their return - and her fearful howl had only cemented that idea in his mind. Despite being young Veigar was not naive to the ways the world worked, and even if he understood the reasons behind her inevitable punishment that didn't mean he wanted to think about them much either. Instead he placed those thoughts carefully out of his mind for a few days, though coming across her scent and knowing she was still here helped ease his anxieties. In what state, he was much less certain, but after days of wondering he decided to seek her out. "Aryn?" Veigar called out as he veered through the redbud forest in search of her. His vision was still blurry, arguably even more so now, though it was really hard to tell how quickly it was worsening... though instinctively he knew the change wasn't temporary. At least nothing yet had made him think it might be.
Veigar is completely blind; his eyes are a hazy shade of pale yellow, though he tries his best to hide this fact.
His saliva also glows a faint shade of neon green since the Ooze event.

Aryn had been showing her new dik-dik around the nook, though the task was monumental with the condition of her paw. It was healing slowly, slower yet with the amount of walking she'd been doing. She was pointing out a specific herb to the small deer when the familiar voice rang out, bringing a soft smile to Aryn's face as she turned toward it. "Veigar?"
The happiness of hearing his young voice almost allowed her to forget her maim, and she was painfully reminded of it when she finally moved to step toward him. She grimaced at the pain, holding her injured paw above the ground. "Over here." Veigar would find her faster then she could limp to him, surely.

Though he'd wondered how she was doing, he knew the answer wouldn't sit well with him. Her abandonment had stung quite a bit but with all things it faded in intensity over time, and while he had a feeling he wouldn't have agreed with the intensity of her punishment, somehow he knew it had still been necessary - a necessary evil, that was a thing, wasn't it? He clenched his jaw hard as he neared her and called out, begging his vision to focus properly as entered his vision. There she was, familiar and comforting even though the markings around her eyes and forehead blurred into a smooth shade of grey. He headed over her way, trying to ignore the limp in her step, at least as best as he could for now. "Are you.. settling back in okay?" Veigar asked tentatively, knowing he might not like the answer.
