Something about long, hot days and a newfound sense of freedom left Lorelai feeling... spicy. She wanted to crunch her teeth on somethin', or run until she lost all her wind, or climb a mountain!... Okay, maybe not that last one, because Pop probably wouldn't like that one bit. But the rest of it she definitely wanted to do! Maybe she'd have to seek out one of her siblings and see if they wanted to go dig up a badger den or something instead. As luck would have it, she tumbled onto Ulmaria's scent not long after. Lore's ears perked and her tail lifted as a grin split across her face. Her sister was probably up to the task, right? Lore followed her trails as closely as she could, only got distracted by like two beetles. When she figured she was close enough she hollered as loud as she could, "Hey, Mar! You around? Ulmaria was bubbling with energy. She'd woken up from her nap not long ago and didn't know what to do with herself so she was digging away at a prairie dog hole. She'd been bounding from one hole to the next before deciding to dig and see if she could catch one… some how. She stopped when she heard her sister Lorelai.

Her ears flicked up straight. "Over here, Lore! Wanna fight?" She grinned, dropping in a play bow with her tail wagging. Lore had perfect timing. Ulmaria was just starting to get bored of digging for prairie dogs and a spar with her slightly bigger sister sounded like the ticket to a good time.

Her nose was so awesome, it'd led her right to her sister! Pretty close, anyhow. The purple pup's voice rang back and Lore ran forward, finding her surrounded by tiny mounds of upturned earth, giving her the universal sign of 'Bring it on!' Lore grinned and mirrored her stance. She was a little bit bigger'n Mar, so she totally had this one in the bag! Regni wolves didn't go easy on anyone! "Yeah! No cryin' whoever loses, and loser's gotta... Uhm. I don't know. Ulmaria was delighted that Lore agreed to spar with her and she bounded forward to face her sister. "Loser has to poke the badger that lives beneath that tree." She pointed to a small, scraggly tree with a large burrow dug down into the ground near its base. Mar was becoming very acquainted with the badger to her misfortune and she really wanted to see what would happen if one of her siblings bothered it.

Her fur puffed up and her ears pinned to her head. That was about all she knew of setting defenses and her tail continued to wag wildly as she bounded forward. Ulmaria tried to nip her sister's cheek as she sought to wrap her arms around Lore's neck.

Ulmaria's terms for the loser's burden were more than acceptable to Lore, but she'd barely gotten the emphatic, "Deal!" past her lips before her sister was charging. Lore only had a split second to drop her stance and steady herself, ears pressed flat against her skull. She felt her sister's teeth zing against her cheek and growled against the pain, more in reflex than anything else. Ulmaria also reached up to grapple around her neck, but being the larger of the two Lore figured she could use her heavier weight to her advantage. She jumped forward into her sister's grip, hoping that on only two legs Ulmaria would be easy to topple backward, or at least sideways, and get pinned. At the same time, she tucked her muzzle down into the minimal space between them, trying to wedge her snout under Ulmaria's chin for whatever grip she could manage on Ulmaria's throat while also protecting her own. Ulmaria's arms wrapped around her sister as her fangs successfully nipped the other girl's cheek. However, she didn't anticipate how hard it was to keep her balance on two legs, especially against her larger sister. She lost her balance and tipped sideways. This caused her sister's bite to land on her left shoulder but she still yelped. The moment her left side hit dirt she kicked out with her hind legs seeking to strike Lore in the gut and maybe buy herself some time to get back to her feet. She hoped her zaps and kicks would be enough to give her time to get away.

Lore was successful in throwing her sister off balance, even if her bites didn't land quite how she wanted them to. That's okay, it was still something! As soon as she felt her sister hit the ground Lore flopped down on top of her, hoping to pin her in place. 'Course, Ulmaria started kicking out her legs which made it hard to stay there comfortably. Lore took one kick too many before bringing a hind leg up to stand right on top of Ulmaria's gut. She wanted to jump on her at first, but that felt a little mean, maybe. She placed a front paw on Ulmaria's neck, trying to solidify the pin and make it so the more her sister struggled the harder it was to wiggle out of or get air in. (Okay, maybe that was mean too, but she wanted to win!) What she didn't expect was for a burst of shock to blaze out through her sister's pelt. Lore yelped and lost her balance, falling down in a scarmble with all her weight right over where her sister was laying with an, "Oof!" Her paws went every which way, trying to get away and maybe landing an accidental blow here or there in the meantime. What the heck was that all about?!
