The tapir was a funny-looking beast Chade hadn’t seen before but it was found almost the same spot as the Tapir had been, just a bit farther to the east.  The pig-looking thing was rolling around in a muddy pool seemingly enjoying the process.  Chade hid under a clump of bushes watching the pig thoughtfully.

How hard was it to kill one of these? Was it the sort to run or to fight? Did the muddy-fatty thing taste good?  Chade was determined still to be of use.  If he couldn’t catch this then he might have to bring back some rabbits or some type of bird but might as well try for something larger first, right?  

Every day of steady food and sleep Chade got he felt himself growing stronger, his stamina lasting longer and able to go a bit faster.  With all of that on his side, the pup felt his confidence growing in his own abilities.  Still, this was something new and he wouldn’t rush in blindly.

"Speech"

After Ezra met the blue-hued boy in the grove and learned about the band that was staying there he had decided to come back out this way to see if maybe he might run into him again. He had no real reason to other than this was one of the better places to hunt near The Hallows, but he was simply just curious about him and the company he kept. He didn't know how long the band would be lingering near their pack, but it made sense for him to scout them out and learn a bit more about them in the mean time. He moved through the grove, attempting to follow Chade's scent, but before he could find him he caught the scent of an animal instead and spotted the pig-like animal rolling in the mud. It was preoccupied enough that he could move through the bushes easily enough without alerting it just from creeping quietly and eventfully he did catch Chade's scent again and found him tucked in between a couple of the bushes. He squeezed in beside him a gave him a grin as he whispered, "Same deal as before?"

Chade remembered Ezra’s scent now and even as the shape of a wolf appeared the scent told Chade who it was, “yeah,” the excitement was in the tone but the pitch was still a whisper to not get the animals attention. “I saw one of these before.  Do we hunt it the same way as the other one?  Are they dangerous at all?”

This wolf was bound to have all the answers right?  He was an experienced adult after all.  He glanced back at the pig thing.  It didn’t seem concerned at all about predators from what he could tell.  That had to mean it was relatively strong, right.

“Half n half again, that’ll be plenty for both of us for sure.” This thing was so bulky it had to have plenty of meat on it.  As much as he wanted food in his belly and Ry’s he wanted to also prove they were useful.  Hopefully, this hunt was a success like the last one.

"Speech"

He gave a nod once Chade agreed to the now usual terms of their one off hunts. They'd take it down together and split the spoils. Simple enough. He glanced back to the tapir when Chade started asking questions about it. He had only seen these pig like creatures a few times around Auster, but it was pretty easy to pick out some details to go off of. At the very least this one didn't have the tusks that some of the boars he had hunted before had. "Shouldn't be dangerous," he replied thoughtfully. "We're gonna have to do something a little different though. It's not lame like the takin was and these pig-like things are always pretty fast. We're going to have to be pretty sneaky and corner it."

Ezra looked around for a moment until he spotted a tight cluster of bushes and trees near by on the other side of the clearing and nodded toward it. "I think if we chase it that way it will at least hesitate enough for us to catch up to it and bring it down. I'll tackle it and get it on the ground and you can get the killing blow." With the plan laid out he led the way to start creeping closer, staying in the cover of the grove's bushes and shade for as long as possible. Once they were close enough he gave Chade a nod and they burst out of their cover together toward the tapir, boxing in the animal to get it to start heading toward their intended target.

Chade kept his body low to the ground, the young dark blue boy slinking closer to the prey.  His feet were careful to not step on anything brittle, his head kept low and eyes never leaving the pig thing other than to watch Ezra from the side of his sight just enough to know when to start the next step.

As Ezra burst forth Chade charged in with him, aiming to keep pace with Ezra.  He moved to the opposite side of the pig than Ezra, snapping at its legs as it took off running.  The larger wolf was right that the creature was surprisingly fast for how awkward it looked.  

It was a good run, the pig would try to break away from the wolves but both would push it back into their net when they tried.  Ezra had said he’d attack it when it hesitated at the brush so Chade got ready to go for the pigs neck when the option came about.

"Speech"

The plan went off without much of a hitch and the pig went running to try and get away from the two wolves. His paws slipped a bit on the mud that the tapir had been rolling in, but he managed to keep his balance long enough to close in on their prey with long strides. They neared the dense underbrush and as he had hoped the tapir hesitated with a bit of a skid as it tried to change directions, but it only put itself more into his path in the process. He leaped and wrapped his forelegs around the tapir's mid section, biting into the back of its neck for some attentional grip. He pulled it down to the ground, wrestling with it for a moment to subdue it and he kept it down long enough for Chade to bite into its neck and end the hunt quickly and effectively. Chade was turning out to be a pretty good hunting partner and he was nearly tempted to try and sway him into joining The Hallows instead of running with his current band, but he wouldn't poach a good hunter from their group when The Hallows already had several of their own. He got up once the tapir was killed and shook himself off, but there was still a good bit of mud stuck in his fur. Syanna would no doubt get him in the bath after he got home. "Another good hunt! Nice job!"
