He walked with a prideful movement, head held high as he reached out in long strides, his red gaze running over the delicate willow trees. He'd woken up that morning with a sense of burning energy under his skin, and even a quick hunt hadn't dispelled any of it. What he really needed was something to get his blood pumping, perhaps a spar of sorts even though it would do little to take away the sparkling fit of energy tingling in his paws. Maybe a quick dash through the woods would do him some good, instead.
Raylan casually walked right through one of the small streams, its shallow depth reaching only up to his knees with his gargantuan height stemming from long limbs. The water was surprisingly warm to the touch, and he paused in the middle of the stream, sweeping a front paw through it to feel if it was just the spot where he stood, or the entire stream. His ears flicked forward curiously as he looked towards where the water was flowing from. In the winter it would be a good idea to warm up in hot springs if there were some nearby, and he did like a good warm bath.

Levi felt as though his fighting training was going along well, it was obvious to all that he had natural talent and only needed a bit of work to smoothen out the rough edges. But in focusing so hard on fighting he could sense a sluggishness in his legs, he needed to stretch them out in a racer and the sooner, the better. He didn't have to wander far at all before he found a stranger lurking in the shadows. Dark of coat with orange pointed tips, a look the pup didn't recognise. Stepping close, he allowed his paw steps to rustle the grass to reveal his presence.

"Race?" He asked the stranger, noting how they seemed all wound up, ready to go.

The rustling of grass had him turning around, his fiery red gaze falling upon the absolutely tiny form of the greyish-black and gold wolf. They were most definitely only half his height, and he had to hold back a delighted laugh at the sight, thoroughly amused. He could only assume this wolf was a child, as no wolf could be that small once reaching their adult years. There was no way.
Raylan stepped smoothly out of the stream as the small wolf spoke, a glint of excitement filling his gaze. Oh, a race sounded just perfect right about now, even though he was sure this tiny child would beat him very easily. "You read my mind, lad." He looked around the forest, smiling widely at the sight of a willow tree in the far distance that appeared to be cleanly broken right down the middle all the way down to the base of the trunk. It sat at the edge of a stream, and would give them the perfect finish line.
He turned back to the child... wolf? Boy. He'd go with boy for now. "First one to the split willow over there wins," Raylan said with a motion of his muzzle, already padding over to the boy to draw a line in the dirt for them to start at. He settled himself behind it, stretching out his long limbs to get them prepared for a short sprint, not wanting to pull a muscle accidentally. Once ready he glanced over at the boy, waiting for him to count down and set them both free to run to their hearts content.
