Lucky for me, I'm pretty good at acting like I've got a hold on this

Lately, he'd been noticing that the knife that he kept within his bracers was dull. He used it a lot, so it wasn't surprising to him in the least. From skinning animals to stabbing them, the blade had certainly become dull. Having been the first knife he ever made, it was also falling apart and could use a good facelift. Grimshaw would begin attempting to dismantle the blade to separate the stone from it's hilt, but as he progressed the buckskin and the twine would soon fall apart. His newly sharpened teeth were doing some major damage to the wrappings, so that was another project it seemed.

Gathering the supplies he had needed before settling down to the task had been wise and with everything around him, he reached for a stone to begin sharpening the edge of the blade. After a few minutes of this, the stone chipped. Frowning deeply, Grimshaw stared blankly at the wrecked knife before chucking it into the sand. At least there were a few extras laying around, rocks that had previously been collected for this very purpose. Rocks that only needed minor shaping and some sharpening to be good blades.

Choosing what he considered to the best blade from his options, a black obsidian stone that shined better than any of the other rocks, he carefully began shaping and sharping with another stone. This would take him some time, whittling it down to the very best he thought it could be. Once it resembled the blade he'd just broken, he set the sharpened stone down and reached for materials to make the hilt from. Leather would still be best, though he would need a reinforced wrapping to withstand his sharp teeth unless he wants to be changing it every few uses.

Grabbing a chunk of black bear hide, Grimshaw carefully wrapped the blade with it until it was of a decent grip for him. A few times he tried it between his teeth, making sure the fit was comfortable. Without any ideas for reinforced wrapping, Grimshaw took the typical leather wrappings they used and began looping it around the hilt multiple times to ensure a good hold. This time he added a few additional knots throughout in case his teeth prematurely severed a line, rendering his blade useless mid fight or hunt, which wouldn't be good.

As he finished and set the blade down before him, he flipped it around to study his handiwork some. It was a little bigger than his last, though would still fit securely within his bracer. Grabbing it and with said bracers already in place, he slid the weapon into and out of the bracer, practicing it's weight and feel in his mouth as he would wield it in the future.
