The man spoke like he knew things, and for as much background as Viðarr had on the situation (read: none), it seemed to make sense. There were so many words that he hadn't heard before in the common tongue. Still, it was fascinating. As he showed Viðarr the quartz stone, his ears perked. Functional, and it was actually quite pretty as well. "Thank you," he was warm. The shadow had no reason to distrust him, or his intentions. This was enough.

With high, careful steps he led the way back to the camp. At its heart, a fire burned softly. His sister had set about drying and salting the meat that he and Iðunn had returned with in days previous. The way they all functioned together, parts of a whole. It was good. "Not long, just since end of spring." He explained, nodding to himself as he did. In the light of the fire he set down the pieces of his new bracers, along with the stone and the remaining hide. "And you?" His gaze was open on the colorful man, studying.

After setting his things down and getting them reasonably settled, the shadow called for his sister. Sanngriðr shouldn't be far, after all. She rarely was.

The call came from camp, just a few yards away on the other side of the wall. Sanngriðr stuck her head over the crumbling foundation, peering at her brother and... oh. A stranger in their home, but there was no distress. No, he'd clearly been invited here. Though distrustful, the valkyrie took note of his pack. A trader? That seemed likely. She arranged her face into something that resembled a friendly expression, and carefully picked up the game board she'd been carefully working on creating.

"Welcome," she addressed the stranger, lazily hip checking her brother as she passed and crossed to the fire side itself. Víðarr lost his balance, having not expected the assault, but caught himself quickly. Siblings, what're you going to do. "I'm Sanngriðr," her words were more proficient in the common tongue than her brother's, and she was more comfortable with the social situation at hand. Still, they weren't necessarily the easy going sort.

"The first hnefatafl set is done soon," she looked to her brother. "Playable now, but needs to be soaked." She carefully scooped some of the ash from the cold side of the fire pit, into a bag that she'd set with pitch. Waterproofing, or at least, enough to make ash dye without it leaking everywhere. "You know hnefatafl?" The girl questioned the stranger. It would be nice to have someone who wasn't blood related to beat at board games, after all. Hnefatafl was the best of all, of course.

Bismuth gathered his things back into the make-shift bag and followed behind the larger wolf. His ears perked forward curiously as they came upon a camp with a fire blazing in the centre left seemingly uninterrupted. It seemed Víðarr and his group hadn't been around long, which explained why Bismuth hadn't seem them around before.
"Since the last Autumn, but I've mostly kept to myself in the mountains as I set up home there," he said in response. This was one of his first proper ventures beyond the caves, other than the occasional hunting trips to gather resources. Before he could start making trades he needed to make up a good stock of items, as well as transform the caves to best accommodate him and his friend.
He sat back as the larger wolf called for someone else, setting his bag down near the fire, and upon looking back spotted a black and red hued female making her way towards them. She seemed friendly enough, of not a bit skeptical, but as he figured he was in their home it was to be expected. Bismuth smiled at her introduction, holding back a small laugh as she bumped purposefully into Víðarr. "Bismuth. It's nice to meet you."
She then brought up a thing called 'hnefatafl', and it was then he glanced at the strange board she had carried with her. His brows raised slightly, lips forming into an 'o' in a confused, but intrigued, expression. "No, but I'd be interested to learn." It was different than any game board he'd ever seen, but he was willing to learn if she wanted to teach him how to play.
Bismuth has an oversized yellow cardinal companion, assume it is nearby at all times even when not stated ICly

Though Sanngriðr's gaze was relatively chilly, Viðarr didn't mind much. The valkyrie was as she would always be, and would be as she always was. Her suspicion was often what kept them alive, and he'd always found it in his best interest to trust it. When she reacts warmly to the trader, the shadow allows himself to relax marginally. Yes, if she had a good feeling about him, then he was welcome here. Really, it was likely for the best that the others hadn't come at his call too... they were a bit overwhelming at times. Such was their way, though, hospitality to strangers. Warmth to strangers. It's important, of course, as the gods walked among them. There was no telling just what form they'd arrive in.

She bumped into him, no doubt intentionally, and Viðarr stumbled just a bit. He shot a scowl at his sister, but it melted quickly. He rolled his eyes and allowed an easygoing smile to play on his face instead. Siblings. It's a familiarity that he can't help but find comfort in. Family above all, always. "He didn't come to... ah... spela hnefatafl," Viðarr realized that he'd misplaced the word for play, but it was good enough. Still, Bismuth said he was interested... maybe it was because he was polite.

"You don't have to if you don't want to," he assured the colorful man, just in case. As he sorted through the furs and the leather that had been set out to cure, he set aside a few that would take longer to cure. "We are ah, doing a trade," he explained to the valkyrie, reminding her that he had a purpose in joining them in camp. It was then that she'd rise to her feet and join him, pulling away a couple more pieces that had been reserved for other purposes.

Bismuth, he was called. Sanngriðr offered a relaxed smile and a nod to him as he spoke, setting up the ash to soak the pieces that she'd crafted. It was a careful motion, making sure that there was minimal leakage. That, and the soak itself could be less than kind to skin if it was spilled and then ignored. She'd be careful... careful enough. Sanngriðr had learned better than that over time, after all.
She scowled pointedly at Víðarr as he chastised, pulling a face. "He says he's interested, not everything has to be about business." The words are hissed, one ear flattening back against her head.
Siblings, what're you going to do, right?

A trade, okay. The valkyrie moved to her brother's side, tugging a couple pieces of leather away from the pile. There was the pelt of a hare that Sanngriðr had been curing specifically for Iðunn to use as a bag to gather herbs, with the fur still well attached. There was also a piece of fawn skin that she'd been treating to remain soft, in hopes that it could be used to create a set of bracers of her own later on. Still, there was plenty of good in the pile, including a few seal pelts that would do well to keep anyone warm in the winter months. "Are there any here that are to your liking, for your trade then?" Sanngriðr would take over for now. Matters that required any sort of diplomacy, after all, were something she was better suited for.
