One fight, one opportunity to bring another fighter into the Aerie fold to protect them after they'd gone, was not enough. Long after his last fight Eligos remained within the bounds of the battlefield, alone and meditating. One might even call it brooding but it was definitely meditating. Kida and Cypher waited patiently with him, though Kida's remaining pups tumbled and played a short distance away. It would be good for them to watch spars and learn, as well - he had the idea that he could send them to allies and friends as they grew up, like he had with Deus, and they could act as bodyguards and symbolic bonds within other packs and loners. Otherwise, they would soon go on their way on their own, so either way it would be healthy for them to learn to fight, and fight well.

The pups were winding down a bit when Eligos rose to his own paws and called out again for another opponent. Tired, but not too tired, they'd be more settled and pay attention.

The battlefield loomed in the back of his mind, ever present. The shadow couldn't help it. A sucker for a good fight, if you will. And he will. The open challenge that rang out was a siren's song, and it drew him from his place in the woods. A beast that casts a mighty shadow as dense and broad as he is. Well, now was as good a time as ever to test his new gear-- armored to the teeth, and with his dog at his side. "Komsi komsi, Fisk." He'd decided to call the dog Fisk... why? Who even knows. Calling a dog "fish" felt funny, and it seemed to be his favorite food. As Víðarr neared the edge of the battlefield, he stretched. The man before him was built lighter, stood taller. The shadow did his best to straighten his posture, a wild glimmer in his icy gaze. "Tja." It was a simple greeting, resonating from his chest. Maybe a bit informal for the situation, but Víðarr knew not of the man he spoke to. With confident, self assured steps, the shadow joined the challenger on the battlefield. "On you." The words were colored with his dense Swedish accent. They weren't quite what he wanted, but with a tip of his head, Víðarr let him know-- he's ready. VÍÐARR Ragnarök awaits.

Eligos raised his head at the sound of another's pawsteps. As dark as he but silver to his gold, built along heavier lines and slightly shorter, with a dog at his heels that made Kida's pups' ears perk up as they studied the strange dog with interest. Eligos dipped his head in return to the man's single word, unknown to Eligos but it sounded enough like a greeting. Kida moved up next to him to size up the other dog, Cypher circling around behind Eli and Kida with an air of nervous energy while he waited for his chance. Eligos leaped forward, feinting for his opponent's right foreleg before jerking instead to his left and slapping his horns up in an attempt to slam his horns against the man's underjaw.

It's polite, the variety of fight that Víðarr isn't accustomed to. This isn't a raid, he's not trying to steal from the man. The man isn't trying to steal from him. Controlled, a gentleman's fight... practice. The very atmosphere feels strange to the shadow, but he allows the excitement to bubble up in his chest nonetheless. The stranger engages. Víðarr reads the grab for his foreleg, but not the swift change in direction. He's too heavy to correct smoothly, and the taller man's horns crash into his jaw. Víðarr grunts at the force of the contact, but there's a rumbling laugh in his chest. A berserker's laugh. Just a bit manic. The pain makes him feel alive. Víðarr gathers himself, pushing off with his hind legs, a powerful leap as he attempts to spring upon his opponent, crash into his shoulder, knock him off balance. If the shadow can use his superior weight to force the adversary down, then the game is all but won. Close quarters fighting suits the behemoth of a man the best, and he'll do his best to stay close to the stranger's body. VÍÐARR Ragnarök awaits.

As the stranger slammed into him Eligos pivoted away, allowing the strike to slide along his breastplate as he whirled around to the side of his opponent without enough force to push him off balance. He slashed with his fangs, seeking to open lacerations on his opponent's shoulder without seeking to keep hold of him, so that he could remain mobile. As he did, Kida leaped forward onto the other dog, snarling and snapping a vicious bite towards the other dog's foreleg in an attempt to get a grip on him and keep him from the fray. Meanwhile Cypher had made his circle and came in to flank Vidarr, aiming to get a grip on Vidarr's hock, in large part as a distraction to try to keep him from moving as quickly on Eligos.

Víðarr can feel himself thudding off the side of the larger stranger. That was fine, he'd recover easily on his feet. No, all Víðarr wants is to stay in close to the creature as they fight. As they brawl. All the shadow can hear is the rush of his own pulse in his ears. Gods, how fucking wonderful he feels. All of it is wonderful. All of it leaves him feeling alive. Heart pounding. Heart throbbing in his chest. The sound of the dogs clashing caught Víðarr's attention, somewhere in his periphery. Fisk snapped savagely, snarled, and wrenched free. Developed over generations to fight bears, though he was bloodied he was able to jump into the scrap between the two men. The dog's tenacity is unyielding, and he surged forward in an effort to knock the stranger off balance. There were teeth in his hock, and Víðarr was unable to move as freely as he would have liked. Still, he surged forward as best he could. The stranger's teeth caught the space between his shirt and his shoulder, slashing at some of the tender flesh. Another laugh, rakish, brassy. It's deep and rings from his chest and throat. Yes, this is exactly what he wanted. He wanted to bleed. He wanted to fight. Through the grip on his hind leg, Víðarr does his best to keep up with the movements of the taller, slighter man. He dove for the tender space where the back of the ear met the man's neck, where the flesh would be soft and pliant. Snapping teeth, gnashing jaws-- Víðarr can feel his heart as it pounds. Yes, this is what it is to feel alive. VÍÐARR Ragnarök awaits.
