She’d played a game, walked around, but after an hour or two, she needed a breather. She found a place tucked out of the way of traffic, checking with a coydog vendor that it was alright to be there before settling down and drawing in a deep breath, letting her eyes slide shut.
It was draining trying to put on a happy face. She knew her heart would heal over time, but it was so hard to see the end of that murky path through the thick forest of emotions and could have beens and should have beens. Every time she thought she’d found a trail, she ran into a twisted bramble of a thought that tore at the thin scabs on her soul and drew fresh blood.
She’d been working herself to the bone, learning healing, and by sheer tenacity and desperation for distraction, she was ahead of her studies. She was due for her mark. Her mother would be doing the application.
It should be both of them.. Not just mother.
Her teeth grit against the pang in her chest, and she focused on the breath in her lungs, drawing it in and letting it out until she steadied again, eyes opening and watching the carnival-goers passing by.
It won’t do you any good to hide here forever. Get out there.
She pushed herself to her paws, slipping out and resuming a strolling pace through the carnival grounds.

Legacy is nearly always clad in her Deer Hide Armor when on outings, mainly because you never know when you'll find an herb to take home. Unless stated otherwise, it's relatively safe to assume she's wearing it.
Álarr had found a number of interesting items at the various festival booths. One item in particular caught his eye. It was a tiny little tractor, similar in color and form to the tractor his father so loved. Now that Valentine was taking on the rearing of Jupiter's children and traveling with them he wouldn't get to see his tractor as often so Álarr decided to make a little charm of the tiny tractor so Valentine could keep it with him. In all honesty he didn't know if his father would be touched or dismayed at this display of sentimentality but Álarr had already traded some herbs for the trinket and decided what the hell. His father was very old and he didn't know how much longer he'd have the man in his life.
Finding a comfortable place outside the festival he settled down to work.
Ulmaria had a cluster of flowers held between her teeth. A mix of little daisies and various weeds and grasses. She had seen a wolf with a flower crown and had decided that she wanted to make one for her dad. She was wandering through looking for her siblings when she spied her uncle at a nearby booth getting some interesting things. She scrambled after him, bouncing after the older man as he settled just outside the festival. She set her herbs down. "I'm gonna make daddy a flower crown! Can you help me?" She wanted to make something pretty for him and Álarr seemed to know how to do a lot of things with plants.
