Raid Meeting
Sparrow had gotten Artisan back, added a little to their ranks, and now it was time for another raid meeting. Couldn't let things be too boring for too long. As for who they raided... Sparrow saw many good options. Fireside was definitely on her mind. Ashen would be good to see if Hattori would go feral again. The forgotten isles... Too many good options remained. Well, that's what the pack was for, wasn't it? Sparrow called to the group, signifying this was a BYOB event and waiting for them to gather before she began. "First off, we have some new members. Everyone, say hi to the new members." Sparrow paused, smile conveying she definitely was expecting some response- serious or not- to greet the newcomers. "Now while we have a slew of new-uns, I think it's time for a raid. We've talked about who and all, so this is really more of a vote and tell me why- nothing too long or boring." |

Modesty still wasn’t comfortable with her lack of fur but, well, at least it was still warm out and it seemed like Gil was right, her fur was growing back, albeit incredibly slowly, her quills standing out more prominently than ever. She had progressed from trying to tuck herself into his armpit at all times to walking more comfortably shoulder to shoulder, though she still tried to keep a low profile. The call for a meeting had her heart in her throat, but she had been summoned and so she would come.
The prospect of a raid was exciting, but it wasn’t something she had an opinion worth sharing on. The only pack she knew of was Ashen, and well, that might be a bit awkward with them being her family and all, but this was her new family, and she wouldn’t sit out if that was what they chose. She sat herself next to Gil to listen in to what the others had to say, and try to not take any jabs about her lack of fur too personally (although bursting into tears was still a possibility).
“Speech.”
Jack was just getting herself truly settled in around the pirates. What a wild life they lived, and it was absolutely fucken perfect. There was a lot to learn about the life they led, but she knew that it would suit her just fine. When the call came, she raced to it. Always something to do, always somewhere to be. Idle hands were the devil's playthings, and Jack... was the devil and the plaything? Did that work? Did that even make sense? Ah, whatever. You know what she's getting at. She took a seat towards the back, listening as Sparrow asked they greet the new members. Oh shit, she was new members. She'd take any attention that came with a brilliant grin and a wink. When it came to who they'd raid, that was a question. In truth, Jack didn't know enough about the packs to have a decent answer. "Whoever's got the best hooch and the prettiest girls," well, she'd been asked for her opinion. What was a raid if they didn't steal a few hearts along the way? |
Ever since her hair had fallen out, Modesty had been glued to his side. Not that he was complaining. Gil quite enjoyed the company and now that he had miraculously grown overnight, their height distance wasn't so slight anymore. It had taken time, but as her hair grew back, she got more comfortable and now took to walking close to his shoulder. While he wasn't a soft sort of guy, he found himself more capable of comforting her in her time of need. Spending most of his days with her now to ensure she was safe while she was indisposed, Gil could tell she was unsure of going to the pack meeting when the call rang out. Walking down the beach with Modesty in tow, he was glad it hadn't taken long to convince her to attend. He was itching to participate so he definitely wasn't going to miss out this time around. Taking his own seat among the group, his eyes glanced over the growing crowd as Sparrow addressed them. He was somewhere in between new and not-new but would keep quiet for now so as not to draw attention to Modesty. Keeping a semi-interested expression on his face, Gil waited his turn to speak. "Anyone who will bring a good fight is fine by me," the mottled man offered with a slight smile. Whether it was Fireside or a closer pack such as Ashen or Armada didn't matter to him. |

Pyralis had been pleased to see Artisan returned. Good to know she didn't need to chew anyone's balls off and could just laze about drinking and occasionally fishing. As much as she enjoyed being on the receiving end of everyone else's hard work she could easily grow board and fishing and trapping were simple ways to contribute that weren't nearly so taxing on her body as a full on large prey hunt.
Sparrow called them together for a meeting and she ambled in take a seat, grinning at the new faces. "Welcome and a toast to the new members!" She tipped her wine bottle to take a hearty swig before considering the next order of business. Hmmmm raid targets. "Fireside or that island pack get my vote." She'd been gunning for Fireside for awhile now and the island pack would mark off the last of the Auster packs (that she knew of) and they could focus making the rounds on the Boreas ones.
Hear ye! Hear ye! Beware her Ladyship, her Excellence (etc. ad infinitum), Captain Pyralis Abraxas. Thread with at yer own risk! This cutthroat savage stands accused though not convicted of heinous crimes including murder, maiming, brawling, cursing, kidnapping and an unspeakable event involving a newt, two coyotes and a distressed potoo. Ye've been warned!
Úlfr finished stretching the deer hide to dry. After his return from the north he'd set about hunting and managed to catch a young doe with a wounded leg. Despite is return southward his thoughts drifted north all the same and he was pulled from his thoughts only by the call of Sparrow inviting them to a meeting. Úlfr finished securing the hide before heading to the meeting and settling down to listen. There were a number of new wolves there and he dipped his head in greeting as Sparrow asked for raid targets. He frowned a bit as Pyralis spoke up. He knew a raid against Fireside was inevitable. At least they had buried their dead. "Fireside's funerals have been had so the timing is better. All the same, my vote is for the island pack. What could be more appropriately piratey?"
Jack was the next ember to appear and was enthusiastic as ever as she shot out her introduction and her preference- or lack thereof- for a pack to raid.
Gil was there beside Modesty- a given in their near-parent like relationship- and said he just wanted someone to bring a fight.
Pyralis cheered the new members and suggested Fireside or the island pack.
Ulfr noted that the Fireside funerals were over, but that he still voted for the island pack. Sparrow nodded.
“Okay, so it seems like we’re all for the raid on the island pack for some wares- clothes and containers most likely. I’ll call again to see if anyone else wants to join the raid here because with these numbers, it’s likely we’ll get our asses kicked again.”
