They were setting about getting settled in. There were predators to be driven out, and borders to be marked. So much work, and all things that Gin herself wasn't particularly suited for. That was fine. She'd set about making preparations for a temporary infirmary instead. If they were going to be looking, specifically looking for trouble, then it was better that the healer was prepared for when they found it.

It was close to their initial meeting spot, though temporary in nature. Gin would set everything back up within the maze once it was safe, and once their roots were properly in place here. Both the Bamboo Maze and the Bay beside it were theirs now... were Hattori's now. He'd spoken of starting a legacy, and Gin was here on the ground floor. The thoughts in her head were starting to feel larger than life, and they were good company as she worked. Dusk came shortly after she started her work, for which the ghost was thankful. She'd trade working in low light for having to contend with the sun.

The healer was careful in the way that she set up. She'd done work to flatten the ground first, so she had an even surface to treat patients. Next came the task of digging a pit to keep a fire in. Grumbling softly to herself, the healer started in on the tough soil. It wasn't long before she hit a rock-- not a small one either. Gin sighed, moving to carefully clear the dirt from each side. Not the largest rock, but certainly not small. The ghost made a face at it, applying her weight to one side, hoping to get it to wiggle in place. Still, it didn't budge-- not yet. Growling softly in frustration, Gin removed more dirt from around the base.

Hattori still walked with a limp, the length of his toe throbbing with every step he took. In time it wouldn't be an issue, but for now he knew it needed tending to. That if he left it any longer he ran the risk of getting an infection, which may in turn lead to more strife further down the road. With Tojo still so new and fresh, there was plenty to be done, stores to be managed and roles to be assigned but Hattori knew well enough a woman like Gin knew a thing or two about healing. That if asked she would see to his wounds and perhaps even tell him stories as she did so.

And thus he sought her out.

It wasn't very difficult, for as ghostly as she appeared her scent was thick around these parts. Present and focused as she put together a space to work, to be in quiet moments like this.

"Gin." He said in greeting, imagining she knew well enough to know why he was here.

She panted lightly to herself as she labored on with the rock. Sure, she could have asked for help. She could have, but it seemed that everyone had finished with their evening and was beginning to fade off towards their own devices for the evening. Well, that was fine. Gin could handle this on her own, and if really necessary, she could get help in the morning. Maybe not the strongest, but independent. Always independent. The ghost didn't need anyone, did she? No. Certainly not. She didn't need anyone, and could handle this on her own... probably. If not, she'd at least work on it on her own.

Gin hadn't realized she was being watched until she heard her name. At once, she looked up from her work, ducking her head as she did. "Sir." The greeting was short, but not without warmth. A demure smile played on her face, though her head remained bowed for a moment longer. His limp hadn't escaped her notice, but many men didn't take kindly to having their wounds pointed out. She knows not of the pride for their new leader, so she's held her tongue for now. All Gin could figure was that he'd seek her when he had time, when he wanted a fix. It seemed that the time had finally come.

"Would you like me to take a look at your paw?" Her voice was soft, using her muzzle to indicate one of the pallets that had been carefully set up under cover. Straw to keep the cold out, caped with rawhide that could be boiled once more when cleaning was needed. Was it comfortable? No. Was it warmer and cleaner than being on the ground? Yes. That was what mattered, in Gin's mind. Sure, they were still working on getting settled in, but for now Gin is pleased with how her setup was coming along.

Hattori limped towards the straw seating Gin had prepared. He was a prideful man, it was that very notion which had brought him all the way out here. To cut ties with the old and bring on the new. But he was not so terrible to refuse aid when he needed it, he'd done it once before and to do so again did not unsettle the Kaicho. It was simply the way of things, how life would operate within the clan.

"If you would not mind." He told her, as he leaned back onto his haunches, finally taking the weight off his front paw.

To his credit he did not wince or hiss in pain. Not out of a misguided attempt at stoic masculinity, rather such a reaction was alien to him, like forcing out words in the common tongue after speaking his native language for so long. It simply wasn't in his nature to show weakness, it had been beaten out of him from a young age and he felt himself receding into old habits. Like history was repeating itself all over again.

"I have kept it clean." To the best of his ability, which was to say he'd done the bare minimum to ensure his whole leg wasn't going to go septic.
