Fern walks the border of the plains as the sun wraps its warm fingers around her. Puff is back in the castle, enjoying a noonday nap while the wolf works. The gray girl reinforces scent markers, rubs her fur against the trunks of certain trees, and keeps an eye out for danger. As she walks, the wind shifts and brings the scent of large predator to her nostrils. Pausing, Fern looks in the direction of where the smell originates. The threat of something so large near the pack needs to be dealt with so the gray girl tilts her head back to release a call for help. Once done, Fern moves toward the area where the predator is. Nose twitches as she walks, following the large cat’s scent. Suddenly, the wind shifts again and loud roar sounds from the nearby trees. Light paws stop as a lion bursts onto the scene, charging toward the gray girl. Fern dodges toward the side, rolling back onto her paws to avoid the lion’s large body. The cat turns, roaring angrily as the gray girl pulls her sword from the scabbard across her back. "Fern Lark”

Serenity just happened to be off the castle walls when Fern's call came out for help at the border, and she didn't even hesitate to drop what she was doing and head over to the call in a hurry. She ran across the plains having been outside the castle walls.

When she arrived, Fern was facing off with a roaring lion and Serenity sprang forward instantly going head first into the lion. Actually with her head, she slammed her growing antlers into the lion's side pushing it off balance. She looked to Fern quickly before squaring up to the lion and sizing it up. The two of them together could get it away from The Hallows.

"Serenity"

The lion is intimating but, as Fern slides her sword from the scabbard, the gray girl feels imposing. Serenity appears and slams her head into the suddenly confused lion’s side, receiving a roar as her reward. As her friend pushes the lion off balance, Fern rushes forward, swinging the sword at the lion’s leg. Another roar of pain and the lion swipes at the two wolves to try and push them away while it backups. Tail swishes angrily as it faces them and Fern lunges forward, pointing the tip of the sword at the lion’s head. It swats angrily at the sword but is forced to give up more ground. Fern looks to Serenity, giving her a short nod before turning her attention back to the angry lion. "Fern Lark"

Serenity wasn't aware of Fern's sword, she hadn't noticed as she was taking it in her grasp. She didn't see it until it was swinging, cause Serenity to jump back a few feet. She knew Fern wasn't throwing it at her, but was just overall surprised by it.

It didn't hinder her long, the lion cried out as the sword made contact with it's leg and Serenity waited just long enough for Fern to give her a nod of acknowledgement before she went forward again. She drove her antlers forward, she was getting used to them being there by now, and went to push the lion on the side of it's neck. Her front paws had jumped off into the air and came crashing down just as if she was a fighting buck. And she hoped she could get the lion down on it's side and hold it there so that Fern could more than likely finish it with her sword.

Fern doesn’t see Serenity jump back as her sword flashes through the air, the girl’s attention is fully on the lion. When she steps back to reassess the situation, ocean-hued eyes watch Serenity ram her antlers into the lion’s side and neck. It roars in pain and indignation as Serenity shoves her weight into the creature’s side. The large cat lets out a panicked yowl as the leg that the gray wolf had hit collapses under all the weight. Fern sees her opening and quickly moves in, shoving her sword deep into lion’s skull to stop its thrashing. With the lion dead, Fern leaves her sword there for a moment and steps back, saying, “Nice one Serenity! Since you saved my butt again, you can have the pelt.” She flashes her friend a huge smile as she returns to dead lion and her sword. "Fern Lark"

The injury Fern had already given the lion from her sword made the take down easy. Serenity's weight into it's side caused it to collapse and Serenity was able to pin it without much of a problem.

She struggled to hold it still as it thrashed, but Fern was quick to put it down. Once it was stabbed, it died quickly and Serenity backed off of it.

Serenity chuckled lightly to Fern's offer, "Deal." and once Fern retrieved her sword Serenity would start the haul back to castle where she could skin the lion. It would make her perch on top of the castle walls more comfortable.
