Fern walks through the grove filled with berries, her steps light and happy. The rain is lessening and the sun has been staying out more. Animals scamper from here to there, causing a smile to rest on the girl’s light lips. She daydreams as she walks, enjoying the day and everything it has to offer. Until, a roar catches Fern off guard. A grizzly bear breaks through the brush, charging straight at the gray wolf. Shit! Moving to avoid the charging beast, Fern ducks behind a large tree trunk and lets out a panicked howl for help. A large paw slashes the tree she is hiding behind and the gray girl flees further into the forest, the grizzly bear hot on her heels.

"Fern Lark"

Serenity had been out searching for a hunt when she heard the commotion, and hadn't known that it was one of her pack mates or even more Fern that was being chased by the predator. She jumped into action anyway because that was just the way she was, and even better now that the long night was over.

Seeing the grizzly after Fern, she lunged forward and went straight for the bear. Once she caught up to it, she leaped up onto it's back with her teeth digging into it's shoulders and almost riding it while she caught it's attention. She was sure Fern would help out, but either way her only goal was to get the bear away from chasing her friend.

"Serenity"

The bear chases Fern through the trees and the girl’s heart thuds painfully against her ribs. Suddenly, the beast lets out a loud, angry roar and it takes the gray girl a moment to realize it is no longer chasing her. Fern quickly stops and spins around, looking for what has caused the bear to give up its chase. The answer is clear as Fern spies Serenity hanging on the beast’s back, teeth ripping into its shoulder.

Flashing a wide grin, the girl speeds back to the roaring creature, the bear planting it back paws to stand. As it rears back, Fern’s gray form jumps up and grabs one of the bear’s paws. Confusion causes the creature to weigh its options, gaze flicking to the smaller wolf that is pulling his paw back to the ground. Raising the opposite paw, the beast goes to swing for the gray wolf but finds only empty air. Fern has released her grip and is retreating back to prepare for her next attack.

"Fern Lark"

Even with Serenity on it's back, she could feel when the bear's attention was driven downwards as Fern was biting at it's paws. Serenity didn't let go of her hold just yet, finding it prime opportunity to do just something enough to scare the bear off and away from them.

While it was busy with what was going on below and confused by the two wolves attacking it, Serenity used it's shoulders as leverage to pull herself up as if it were a climbable wall. Her jaws spread as she latched onto it's ear and head on the way down, ripping the flesh of it's ear right off the skull. She flipped over the bear, finding steady ground under her paws while she landed beside Fern and spun to start facing off with the grizzly who was no doubt second guessing it's choices.

"Serenity"

Fern grins at Serenity, the bear clearly doubting its life choices. Right, time to chase it off. Giving a small nod, Fern moves toward the beast’s right side, snapping and snarling as she goes. The gray girl makes a racket, causing the bear take a step back. Its eyes flick between the two wolves, indecision causing the bear to hesitate. Fern lunges in, teeth grazing one of the bear’s legs. The beast roars while taking another step back. Finally catching on that the wolves will not leave it alone, the grizzly turns its broad back to Fern and Serenity and starts to flee. The gray wolf follows her partners lead, giving a short chase if she wants or leaving the bear be. After it is all done, Fern gives Serenity a huge smile and says, “Fancy meeting you here.” She chuckles at her own joke.

"Fern Lark"

Both of them combined as well as it's injuries had the bear backing up to retreat. It waited to see if the two of them would go after it or if it had the opportunity to leave. And it fled.

Serenity glanced over at Fern quickly, looking over her body just in a flash to make sure she didn't have any wounds. She smirked at her comment, "It's always a fight, isn't it?" She wondered what Fern was doing out here, probably the same as she was. Doing something to provide for the pack. "Would you like to head back now?" She questioned, though didn't mind if Fern wanted to continue what she was doing. She was just worried about the bear coming back, or maybe another nearby.
