light stains the sky with ice

Eligos yawned and stretched, observing the battlefield around him as the early sun just began to peep over the horizon. The season had turned, and he knew that he would need to complete his obligations he'd given himself out here so he could return to Aerie and face his brother's judgement. That day, however, was not today. Today he was just looking for a quick spar to warm up for the day. He didn't expect to find members for Aerie, though he had been hopeful of it in the past. It didn't seem many were as eager to join a mercenary pack as they were. Maybe it was his pack's moral ambiguity that bothered people, since they seemed to have no trouble joining other, more darkly inclined packs. Or perhaps it was simply the Abraxas reputation had been soiled beyond repair by the antics of his traitor uncle's offspring. It seemed that when he died, he'd be leaving his brother a larger mess to deal with than when he had first taken over the family. He shook his head, to clear it both of the cobwebs of sleep and the gloomy thoughts. That wasn't why he was here. He was here for a spar, and that was that. Lifting his muzzle, he called out for an opponent, and waited there patiently with the malinois flanking him.
