I'm Tired of Looking for Answers

The last thing Birna ever expected to be doing was babysitting a wolf pup. She wandered down to the black sands of the cove with the colorful pup in tow while her uncle when herb hunting around Waterfall Peak. Of course she wasn't doing this for free. In exchange for keeping an eye on his niece the horned wolf had agreed to make her a number of teas and healing ointments. With winter on the way and little healing knowledge of her own she figured it was well worth keeping a wolf pup out of trouble for a day. If only it were that easy.

They'd arrived at the cove, wandering down the sands when Birna spied something large and white laying on the beach. At first glance it appeared to be a large patch of snow but her keen eyes noted the black nose. "Ulmaria, wait." She commanded as the pup got closer.

Speech

Ulmaria raced through the black sands, bouncing up and down as she ran. She enjoyed the feeling of the sand between her toes and the beautiful color of it. It was fun exploring this part of Boreas and she had to admit it was interesting being around the snow leopard. She'd tagged along after her uncle to the battlefield but having failed to find an opponent for her they'd taken a trip to Waterfall Peak instead where they'd ran into Birna. After a deal was made the cat agreed to take her down to the cove. She was enjoying her exploration when a large white shape caught her attention. Assuming it was a big pile of snow she raced toward it, planning to jump right in the middle when Birna yelled for her to wait. She skidded to a stop and at that moment the shape shifted, standing up to reveal a massive white bear.

While returning from a hunt, a familiar scent brought Taiga to altering her course. The scent was fresh, so the hulking feline didn't have to push herself too hard to catch up with Birna. The pair had gotten along well enough during their last meeting, so she planned on telling the woman about a fresh moose kill not too far away. Those plans changed, however. As the sight of the leopard came into view, Taiga noted the wolf pup and the bear. The ursine stood, staring down the little pup before seeming to make up its mind on an easy meal. The bear rushed the pup and Taiga rushed the bear. As it neared the small girl, the giant lioness slammed into the bears white side, bowling the bear over, but flying over it with the force of their collision. "Speech"

Birna tensed as the bear rose. She had hoped that it was just resting and might leave but when the bear charged for the pup she knew it had been hunting, laying in wait for them. Before Birna could strike a familar lionness charged onto the scene, slamming into the bear and sending it crashing to the ground. She was glad to see the cave lion arrive knowing the larger woman was a far greater opponent for the bear than she or the pup could be.

As the bear slammed into the ground on its side Birna darted forward. Her claws lashed out, dragging down the bear's belly before she sprang away, narrowly avoiding the retalitory swipe.

Speech

Ulmaria bounded to the side, just focusing on getting out of range of the bear when a loud thud caused her to skid to a stop. She turned behind her to see a massive lion. The biggest lion she'd ever seen! Ulmaria stood there with her mouth open in shock as Birna darted forward. Crap right, they were in a fight. She could gawk later. The bear stumbled up to its feet and Ulmaria raced for the back end of the bear. She slammed her chest into its rear, the electrocyctes in her body activated from the pressure and delivering a solid jolt causing the bear to lurch awkwardly forward.

Since Taiga had slammed hard into the bear, it took her a moment to get back to her paws. By that time, Birna had made an attack upon the bear. Even the pup was contributing. With pain coming from all angles, the bear didn't quite know what to do. Distracted as it was, the white bear didn't see the charcoal feline approaching from the side. Taiga leaped at the bear, wrapping her forelegs around its lower neck while her teeth found its upper neck. Claws sunk into its flesh, allowing her to hold on while the bear growled and thrashed. She planned to kill it. A bear with taste for wolf pups would be a danger to all. "Speech"

Birna circle back swiftly, preparing for another strike. Ulmaria struck the bear from behind causing it to lurch forward, hind limbs shivering from the strange electricity the pup produced. But that was the least of the bear's problems for at that moment Taig leapt once more into the fray. Her powerful arms wrapped around the base of the bear's neck, her fangs sinking in. Birna leapt onto the bear's back, all four sets of claws digging in as well as her serrated fangs. The bear bucked and jerked but she held on tight. In truth her weight probably didn't phase the bear but she was certain her claws and fangs would.

Speech

Ulmaria skidded back, half expecting the bear to turn around and come after her but it didn't get far before the large lion attacked, followed shortly by Birna. The cats were extremely efficient at attacking the bear and she could see the benefit of have four sets of retractable claws. Wary of accidentally shocking either of the cats she instead focused on biting. She bounded forward for the left ankle, fangs seizing in and her head thrashing as she sought the deeper veins and arteries, hoping to assist the cats by inflicting more blood loss on the large predator.

The trio of ladies worked together and the bear stood no chance. The powerful grip of the lioness' bite at the back of the bear's skull was unshakeable. Taiga bit down harder still and felt the crunch as the ursine's vertebrae gave out and shattered. The bear released a little squeal of pain and quickly crumpled to the ground. Its life drained away shortly after. Taiga released her hold on the dead bear and settled back, catching her breath. The woman cast her claret gaze towards the other two and nodded, still not quite able to speak. They seemed to both be in decent shape and that had been the goal. "Speech"
