Killing Game!
Alastor

Kichi had caught the scent of the bear from the stone steppe and followed the scent to where it got stronger at the base of the mountain. Several trees hid part of the rocky slope up and while Kichi couldn’t see it his nose assured him the bear was close. The bear hadn’t spotted him yet which was handy and while Kichi had more than once attacked a bear on his own this time he backed off. Fighting bears alone didn’t always end with killing bears alone, most of the time the best he could hope for was scaring one off when alone. This one had the scent of a polar bear which would make it even more dangerous. It could also be fun.
Kichi jogged back closer to the pack land, howling for Alastor to ask him to meet at the edge of the steppe. Kichi sat there, watching the direction of where the bear would be. Slowly a plan was coming to mind that had the silver and white wolf grinning. It was about time Alastor and him kill something together. More than that though Kichi was thinking up a competitive game they could play at the same time. Hopefully, Al wasn’t too busy in other ways. Either way, Kichi waited either for Al to show up or a reply to the howl if he couldn’t come.

Alastor would never be too busy for Kichi. The young wolf's call had come for Alastor while he was spending some time skinning and butchering some fresh kills to add to their larders. The blood-soaked brute lifted his head, considering Kichi's call for him. The lad didn't sound like he was in danger, so it caught the Mendacium man's intrigue. After passing off the remaining work to his son, Al headed across the land bridge to the mainland and found his surrogate son waiting for him by the pack's borders with this wicked grin on his face. Now that was interesting for him to see! Since the founding of the pack, he and Kichi had both been busy with their own respective duties, but he had never stopped loving the gray wolf like he was his own child.
"You look like you're looking for trouble," he commented with a dark chuckle as he approached Kichi, lowering his head to nuzzle the young wolf's shoulder in affectionate greeting. A flash of pearly white fangs and a curious glint in his eyes, Alastor asked, "I hope you were planning on cutting me in on whatever devilish things are going on in that head, right?"

Kichi grinned brightly as he saw Alastor approaching. Admittedly, where Kichi felt so cold about most of the world there was a bright spot in life and it was called Alastor. It was the grey wolf's own fault for not having more friends, he knew it but there was something in Kichi that refused to risk trusting another with friendship. Alastor was family, truly trusted, and loved family. Relm was, was, well something also.
The grin turned darker as Al asked what they were up to. “There’s a bear not too far away. I thought it was about time you and I killed something together. Make it a game for more fun? Whoever does the most damage wins. Scored by the number of bites and how deep they are.” That did mean it might be best to not bite anything too vital right away. Couldn’t let the game end overly soon, right? No harm in playing with the prey.
This wouldn’t only be fun but he could prove to Alastor how much stronger he was. Kichi didn’t give a damn about anyone's opinion of him, except for Al.

Alastor listened with keen interest while Kichi smiled a wicked smile to him and filled him in on his scheme for the day. He'd tracked down a bear close by and intended to torture and kill the great beast. He wanted to turn it into a game with Alastor, see who could cause the most suffering to the creature before it expired. Alastor quirked a curious brow to the younger male and chuckled. "When did you become such a ruthless cold-blooded killer? I remember when you could've rode on my back and you were picking on little girls in the woods," he teased his "son" in macabre jest. A flash of his deadly fangs showed his interest in the idea though. "All right, tough guy, you've got me intrigued. Let's play a game."
The demon wolf tried to recall a time Kichi had ever seen him cut entirely loose, but Alastor couldn't come up with a single instance. All his acts of depraved violence occurred outside the eyesight and earshot of his surrogate son, from the time he'd slaughtered the elk that had terrorized Kichi as a pup to the absolute evisceration of Kefka when he'd saved Relm from being raped. Kichi had never seen Alastor in his fully unhinged side—but maybe now he would. "After you, killer," Al gestured with a paw for Kichi to take the lead, both to show him where this bear was but also to give him the advantage of the first move. He didn't doubt Kichi's prowess as a fighter, but he also didn't know how many licks the mottled gray wolf would be able to get in before the savagery of the devil inside him tore the bear to pieces.
