Kotori had taken it upon himself to train any wolves in Ashen that wanted to be fighters.  His job was to protect Venom and helping her pack grow stronger seemed more worthwhile than just hanging around for a time.  His time to help was limited but whatever knowledge the pack gained would last far more than a season.  

So, here he was with one of the pack's pups, Sitri.  The young male wasn’t far from being a year old from what Kotori understood, certainly, it appeared that way in his size and build.  With the need for fight training in mind, Kotori had chosen to take the boy away from the safety of the pack and into territory Kotori knew well.  The weeping woods were practically home away from home.  There were predators out here they could find for sure.  How many kills had Ko made here over time?  Enough he lost count.

The trees could hide many things from view but there was no hiding a scent.  Most of the bears were likely holed up somewhere but the land didn’t disappoint.  The scent of a large cat caught Kotori’s nose, his head turning to the left sharply, nudging the boy.  “Smell it?” Ko kept his voice soft, his body still.  So far it appeared they had the upper hand on surprise but would that last long?

Even as Kotori had the thought he heard movement, and the cat was standing up, stepping into sight from where it had been behind one of the tree’s curtained hiding spots.  “So,” Kotori lowered his head, ears flattening and snarling at the tiger.  “Feel bold enough?  I can keep the head busy this time, let you take the end without the teeth.” Kotori leaned forward even as the tiger moved towards them.  If the boy wanted to they could flee but he’d make sure that the tiger’s focus was on him.  “Get around behind if you are ready.”

His protective father still wouldn't let him out of the territory to explore on his own, but when the opportunity came up to go out of the pack lands for some real life fighting training with the wolf from Armada that was staying with them he took it. It would get him out and about for a while and give him a chance to put all his training into practice! As he followed Kotori out of Ashen's lands and across the lands that the Armada used to own, he kept his lilac and blue eyes peeled for anything interesting, learning the paths they took to get there so that one day when he was allowed out on his own he could make it back here again.

Walking through the woods he was bought to, he looked around at the long, draping branches of the unusual trees that reached all the way down to the ground around them. He almost missed all the streams that criss crossed between them because of the thick layer of snow, but the ice that covered the water gleamed in the sun and got his attention and once he noticed it they were pretty obvious and he could follow the path of them pretty easily.

His attention was pulled away from the landscape when Kotori nudged him, asking if he could smell it. At first he didn't realize what Kotori was talking about, but after a deep breath of the air around them he scented the large cat in question. His ears perked and he nodded, turning his gaze toward the sound that quickly followed the tiger's scent. He got down into a fighting stance alongside the other male as the tiger approached them, listening as he was asked if he was bold enough to go up against the tiger. He nodded in agreement, tossing Kotori a grin before beginning to sneak away through the long branches of the willow trees to get behind the tiger where he could make his move once the tiger was fully engaged with Kotori.

The tiger’s eyes started to follow the wolf that was moving into the brush, apparently more interested in the one that wasn’t remaining still.  Kotori watched,  watching until the second he saw the muscles bunching up on the tiger’s front legs.

Kotori rushed in with an intentionally loud snarl to draw the tiger’s eyes back to him and away from the pup.  It worked and a clawed paw was swatted towards Kotori as if expecting that was all it took to get rid of the annoying wolf.  Kotori put on the breaks to just miss the attack, sinking his teeth into the leg as it swings by, connecting right behind the joint on the paw.  His teeth dug in nicely and when the cat’s head swung towards him with its fangs and Kotori finally had to let go.  That was fine though, the tiger was obviously fully focused on the wolf in front of it now.
