Moving onto the semi-finals Levi couldn't say he was wholly invested in winning. No one liked to lose and he wasn't an exception, but at the end of the day he had nothing to prove, didn't feel the need to show off or make a scene. He did notice a running trend though, that most of his opponents thus far had been dire wolves. Big and looming, giving Levi plenty of options to bite and tear at.

Moving back into the ring, he took a moment to glance about, eyes glazed with boredom. He hoped he wouldn't have to stand around for too long, but from what he'd seen most of the opponents had been pretty punctual thus far so he didn't think he had cause for concern. Who was he gonna fight next though? He didn't seen Bas around for a while so it felt safe to assume he'd been knocked out some time ago. A bit of a shame, it felt as though it had been forever since he'd had a spar with his big brother. Oh well.

What had started out as a tournament he had reluctantly joined in on had turned into a series of wins he hadn't realized he needed. After such a hard road as of late it was kind of nice to just unwind and feel a little victory for a moment. It didn't fix everything that had happened and he would go back to the darkness of it when all of this was over, but he was having fun which was a welcome departure. After taking a moment following his last fight to get himself ready for the next, he walked back into the ring and found himself standing in front of a younger wolf who was hardly a fraction of his size. He wouldn't lie and say that he wasn't surprised to see the fire-marked young man in the semi-finals with him, but if he won then he won and Ezra wasn't going to discount the skill—or luck—that the smaller wolf had.

Giving Levi a nod and a slight grin he prepared himself for the fight, standing across from him in a defensive stance with his legs slightly bent and ready to move. It was just this fight and then one of them would be in the finals! Eager to get the fight going, he gave his opponent just a moment to prepare as well before lunging forward to engage him. He fully expected to not have the advntage when it came to agility or speed so he tried to anticipate his movements a little bit. He lunged down to try and grab his scruff, but he fully anticipated Levi being able to dart away so instead he stopped just short of biting and tried to guess where he would go and pivot to match that and make another grab for his scruff a bit ahead of where he was dodging to.

Offering a nod in return, the pair were quick to get into the thick of it. No reason to delay the inevitable, lots of work had clearly been put into organising the tourney and thus Levi saw no reason to bog it down. Ezra was swifter on his feet than he looked, his steps confident and steady, well-used to the bulk of his form. No doubt the result of seasons of training, but Levi was no slouch either and it would take far more than a scruff grab to knock him out of the competition. In fact, if his opponent wanted to bite his scruff than he was more than welcome to. Instead of dipping away as expected, he simply moved to meet in the middle, neck tensing as his spines stood straight and sharp. Hundreds of thorny spikes poking up, ready to catch on the soft, flappy skin of lips and muzzle.

This little guy was apparently full of surprises because as soon as he went to grab his opponent’s scruff he noticed the unusual quills a moment too late. He jerked back and retracted his attempted attack, but not before he got a solid stab from several of the spines right into his lips and chin. He grunted with pain and staggered back, shaking his head a bit to distract from the stinging pain of the shallow puncture wounds he got from this oddly armored wolf. He huffed with a bit of a snarl as he rushed back in, paying closer attention to where this guy’s natural defenses and weapons were this time. Not seeing anything obvious from the middle of his back and down, Ezra tried to leap in and land with his large front paws knocking into Levi’s hip to shove him to the ground and attempting to pin him there to get the advantage in their fight.

Levi's lips curled up into a grin as he felt the tips of his spines connect. It wasn't uncommon for his opponents to overlook this, to be so focused on his size and see an easy target to reach. Either way, he knew it meant little in the grand scheme of the fight, the Hallows wolf wasn't out for the count yet. Instead, he found himself losing his breath as he found himself falling, hip aching as a paw shoved him down onto the ground. He landed on his side but was quick to roll onto his back, limbs kicking out as he unhooked his talons in an attempt to ensnare some loose skin.
