Samhain 2022The Ooze ParticipantThe Ooze - Variation 3

Ardyn Cadeyrn Aodhán Phoenix Adravendi

It had been a long walk home with the small girl at his hocks. He’d taken his time intentionally, showing her the world and slowly teaching some very basic words. “Food, Eat, Hide, Come, stay, sleep, me, you, name…” enough for some extremely broken speech. Now, a week or so later, he paused within the passage in the eastern wall of the Moor, smiling at the mist-wrapped lands within. Home, finally.

His muzzle tipped to the sky, sending a sonorous announcement of his return into the night air before padding forward with a friendly flick of his tail toward Isara, inviting her forward into the miasma, idly wondering who might come greet them first.

He kept his pace to a lazy amble, letting the girl take her time if she wanted to consider following him any farther. Every line of his tall frame spoke of comfort and familiarity of his surroundings, showing there was nothing to fear in these lands.

He’d been watchful as always during their travels back to Valhalla, and he didn’t doubt that she’d catch the change in body language. She was intelligent, just very sheltered from the very little he could gather from observation over the past days.

Now, with travel over, he hoped she’d settle and truly open up, find her footing and her path in the world.

Ardyn tipped his head to smile back at the girl, stating cheerfully, “Home.”

For as long as she wished to stay.

Walk ---- "Speak" ---- "Labhair an Sean-Teanga." ---- "Hear" ---- Think

Ardyn's family (Red, Aurielle, Siblings, Valhalla) are allowed to crash threads, regardless of private tags.

Ardyn at first glance is as black as can be imagined with a raven sheen.

Closer inspection proves that he shimmers in fire tones in every hair on his hide right down to his lashes.

More obviously, he glows like a bed of coals and flames with every movement and brush of fur. His tail is usually wagging, so blazes like a torch.

His adult teeth are in and his saber canines have grown to their full length (see profile). His mane and tail hair have grown to full length, as well as being lightweight and easily buffeted by breezes.

A look at his front paws will give the impression of hands, with his dew claw dropped low and lengthened into a functioning thumb, and his toes elongated into fingers. He has retractable, solid black cat-like claws on every paw.

Ardyn has developed a glowing mast of intricate markings in fire and ice colors over his face, symmetrical over the last seasons of Year 17 (see profile for details). During hunts or raids/sieges, he will smudge them out with black soot to cover the glow, otherwise, they are bright enough to note at first direct glance at his face. Not all his artwork currently portrays the mask markings.

He is also often bedecked in beads, small bells, feathers in blues, ribbons and braids thanks to the Ooze Event of Halloween 2021, and the Coathanger item that he got. The accessories generally are seen most in his mane and tail hair. He removes the brighter items and bells for hunts or battle.

"Welcome back."

Torben noticed the girl and gave her a soft and kind smile before his attention went to the High King. The massive albino dipped his head to Ardyn. He had stopped wandering the mists when he smelt the other male's scent mingled with the one of a young female. It was not curiosity but concern that drew him forward. He still did not fully trust this new world; it'd take some time before he felt at ease.

"Everythin' is quiet here but" he continued, giving his unofficial report to his leader "who might ye be, miss?" It seemed Ardyn wanted Valhalla to meet her, hence the call to the pack. Torben stood tall, on equal footing with the alpha, but the girl was tiny. "name's Torben." he added for her benefit, unaware of the limitations of her speech. He dipped his head to her courteously.

Aurielle Adravendi

She’d been on her way to her patrol route when her son’s song reached her ears, bringing a serene smile to her glowing white features as she altered her path to see what had kept her son so long on his trip to speak with Theory.

Retirement suited her better than she could have thought possible. The tower on the hill was coming along – slowly, but steadily – and while she doubted that she would be alive to see it completed, she might be able to see it in her descendant’s dreams in Somnium someday.

In the dark of the night, the first anyone was likely to see of the former queen was a halo of light, enhanced by the frozen mists of the moorland. When she stepped through the last veil of fog, she found not just her son, but a tall albino man and a small, cream patched girl.

Her eyes flicked over Torben with a touch of sad wistfulness. His markings were far different, his tail docked, but the albino coloring put her in mind of Nolan, and what should have been.

She’d caught his name, and added her own greeting to her son, stepping up to press a maternal kiss on the tall king’s cheek before smiling at the girl, long-haired tail sweeping in a graceful wag before she glanced up at her son, teasing, “So this is what kept you so long on your tour. I was beginning to wonder.”

She shifted to face the girl, though left room to aim the words to Torben, head dipping in a brief greeting as she introduced, “I am Aurielle. Welcome to Valhalla.”

A soft hu-hm from her son brought her eyes to the young man’s and she noted his bemused smirk and careful watch of the girl, as though waiting for the yearling to react in some way. Interesting.

At first glance, Aurielle's coat is pure white.. Her fur has an iridescent quality (like moonstones) where the fur shimmers different colors under various angles of light: in this case, the colors shown by rainbow moonstones. Not one hair on her hide is a solid unnatural color, but, ya know, it's really hard to convey that in still art :P
Aurielle's English is heavily laden with an Irish, Swedish mixed accent.
Her family is allowed to crash all her threads, Private and Open.
As of Autumn Year 14, Aurielle glows with a bright blue-white bio-luminescence in her fur, and bears a marking over her left eye - see profile and reference.

You couldn't kill me if you tried

Ardyn had been gone a while, and in his stead, she had noticed the scent of a newer pack member, but she had yet to introduce herself to the newcomer. But now it seemed that Ardyn had brought someone else home judging by the note in his call. Eager to see her friend, she abandoned her late-night tinkering with some gemstones she had found and went to go meet him. It didn't take long for the leggy woman to reach what appeared to be a growing crowd. Among the moonlit pelt of Aurielle and Ardyn's fiery tones, she spotted the newer male as well as another new wolf near Ardyn's side. Her tail wagged as she approached, her fur pulsing softly and the markings on her fur appearing to swirl with the glow of her pelt. Her tail was lit up like a beacon, and she found it was quite useful to light her way in the dark.

She stopped and gave each present wolf a nod, a kind smile on her features and curiosity full in her gaze. "Welcome back, Ardyn! Looks like you brought someone else along with you!" She exclaimed, "My names Tel'Teukiira, but feel free to call me Tel," She said to both the she-wolf, and the new male. "It's nice to meet you!"
