OOC: While I cannot force anyone to not reply to this thread due to OOC rules around private marked 'trespasses', I would appreciate it if this was left for Pyralis to reply to. Lunar did not get to participate in the Obsidian Shore maim train thread and Pyr deserves a chance for her own taste of vengeance too :heart: Also, Azure is not trespassing, he is skirting the borders in a way that might be considered a bit negligent and bold, but does not intend on stirring any extra big drama TM so soon after the last.

Mercury had given Azure an interesting bit of information that had unfortunately been more helpful than the prideful Fatalis was willing to admit. Coconuts could assist in curing a hangover, and seeing as Azure intended on indulging a few times more over the remainder of the season, he assumed he should have some of the miracle fruit on hand for the occasion as well. The ravine they had trekked to reach the palm trees was not one Azure wanted to walk again, but he knew where the coconuts had been harvested - an island on the outskirts of Dove Island Archipelago, allied territory, where he had been welcomed before and assumed he would be welcomed again.

Rather than go the long way, Azure toed the river that made Time's Cavern's western border. If he could just make it past the pirate's den and across the short way to the isle and back, he could return with his prize without bringing more ire from the pack that called this land home.

Pyralis was in a sour mood. Not only had she lost to the Armada brat but she'd lost one of her ears in the fight. On top of all that apparently the pirates had had quite a party while she'd been away. Sparrow had lost one of her ears in a maim fight and given birth the same night while the rest of the pirates got to maul the assailant. Of all the rotten luck.

Well, at least she'd found some assistance up north. For a fair trade she was able to get the severed ear taxidermied and it now sat atop her helmet opposite her working ear. Not that she was so vain as to be bothered by a missing ear but when she saw the little piece of herself lying on the ground so forlorn… well, she couldn't just leave it.

Home from her escapades she intended to do some heavy drinking. Pyralis was on her way to some hidden wine stores when Alkali swooped down to alert her of someone near the borders. At first Pyralis shrugged. So what? It was no hidden fact that the Plunders borders were basically open. Hence why she hid her wine stores here and there in case of nosey passers thru. But at the mention it was Hanako's husband Pyralis immediately dropped what she was doing and headed right for the source of the scent. Maybe her luck was about to turn.

As soon as he was in view she let out a high-pitched shriek of delight. "Azzzuuureeee my darling! You must've heard I'd missed all the fun and come to see me personally. You really know how to make a girl feel special." Without another word her defenses were set and kicked off straight for the man. As she neared she stepped to her right, jaws flinging wide as she attempted to bite the left side of his face, her upper fangs seeking to land below his left eye, her lower fangs at the left corner of his jaw. Her goal was to snap her jaws together and render deep, scarring lacerations across his face.

The delighted shriek immediately pulled what was left of his ears flat against his skull, abrupt annoyance clear in every muscle of his body as well as the twitching grimace upon his face. This bitch, again? With a casual pivot of his hindquarters Az moved to face her, the corner of his lip pulling up at her drawl. It was too much to ask to sneak past unseen or uninterrupted, and now that the Sin had eyes on him Azure knew there was no point trying to talk his way past or attempting to retreat - not that he had time, as Pyralis did not give him the courtesy of a period for response before she struck.

Azure hardly had a moment to track her movements as the parted jaws came fast and hard down upon his cheek. Stepping back would place him solidly in the river (not a great battlefield, admittedly) and sidestepping was not something his bulky limbs were adept at. He felt the fangs begin to sink into the flesh of his teeth and shifted his muzzle inwards towards the bite to retaliate. It was a risky move that might deepen the potential rending of flesh, but it was only through a fast counter that Az would be able to ward off the assault.

Parting his own jaws and stretching the wound painfully in the process, he aimed to manage enough movement of his muzzle that he could position his own teeth over the base of her own - just the fangs on the left side, including the extended saber, intending to grab and pierce the saber through the fleshy jowls on her right side.

Hungover from a week of alcoholism, bruised, maimed and lacerated from the week prior where he'd fought six wolves in a span of days, his back against the water's edge and his body unprepared for the strain of yet another assault - Azure could do nothing to defend himself from Pyralis' attack. His attempt at countering the attack had been too slow and only served to allow her to grip deeper and tear longer furrows from his cheek. The familiar taste of blood filled the corner of his lip, though the metallic taste did not thrill him knowing it was his own and not the blood of the pirate bitch at all.

The flesh broke beneath her fangs, breaking Pyralis' hold and bringing Azure to stumble back into the shallows of the calm flowing river to gain distance from her. He stared up at her on the bank and tried to snarl, though the sound was distorted by pain and the pooling blood that bubbled out from the holes in his face. Az swayed and caught himself, spreading his paws wide in the riverbed and letting his head hang down below his shoulders to try and quell the blackout that threatened him. "Next time-" The brute began, his words slurred and forcing more blood from the wound as his tongue flicked. The crimson stream fell off his cheek and into the water below, a pool of it encircling the wounded predator's wide limbs. "- try me when I'm ready for it." Lingering would be dangerous, and though Azure could not rule out that Pyralis might just jump and drown him right here, he knew he had to start for home if he had any chance of making it to allied territory before his wound disabled him further. Stumbling slightly, he turned and made for the other side of the river, putting his back to Pyralis and the border line he hadn't even crossed.
