[ x-large hunt! ]

She stalked the wounded water buffalo best she could, knowing she had more to learn before calling herself a master. Tallulah trailed after the blood path, making sure to subtly claim the animal for herself and her hunting party. The girl let out a low howl to call others to her being before settling among the reeds of the Delta. Her small, compact body made tracking without being seen easy. But she was quite aware that the buffalo expected predators. It had been wounded by a crocodile's jaws, managing to get away before Tallulah spotted it. She murmured a plan to herself but would defer to the judgment of experienced hunters if they decided to boss others about. She had seen the prey before anyone else, so she should make a plan... right? Her mind worked in tandem with the size of wolves here. Trying to come up with a concrete one. 1/3 - extra large hunt (water buffalo!) next round is 24th OR if we get 6 wolves in by then |

This time Ngurulivu found herself in the Eastern part of Boreas. Above her Splatter flew along, the bird keeping an eye on things above her as she wandered across the lands. She was getting used to traveling all over Boreas now, and she welcomed the ability to freely travel. At least she was meeting others and doing something with her life. She just wished she could get Florian out of his shell and do the same thing. He was quick to want to stay where he was, in the North, and not really travel far. But she had a sinking suspicion she knew why. The yearling he had met. Florian had a friend there he didn’t want to abandon. A familiar voice sounded and Ngurulivu perked her ears. That sounded like Tallulah! She had only met the younger woman once, but she had been a good hunter. Perhaps it was time that the monochrome she-wolf redeemed herself in assisting with a hunt. This time there would be no slush slapping her in the face as she sent off, calling to her feathered companion to follow. She moved carefully, hoping to get a warning from Splatter when he saw the prey that the southern belle was tracking down. Before long she found the other woman, creeping up close with near-silent paws. Her voice was quiet as she addressed her, a bit of a grin on her face. “Got a game plan?” She hadn’t seen the beast they were hunting yet, having come from somewhere behind Tallie, but she could see the blood clear enough and could smell it in the air. ------------

When was the last time she was here? In boreas? Jane couldn't recall right now, and that meant it was time to change that! And more than just to be there, she wanted her trip to go with purpose, with a more important reason. And what would be as good as doing so to hunt? To bring back thing not always found in Auster. Hunting was atleast the only thing she could feel like she had worth in something. Many of her family and packmates already had achieved things, becoming important and mostly successful in life. Something she wasnt, she was but a no one.But at hunts, she felt different, she felt somewhat confident.
And ironically as she found herself in the souther regions of Boreas, she spotted a blood trail. From an ungulate. Well maybe this was her lucky day. They grey wolf then followed the along them, sniffing and with the intentions of finding the injured animal she could perhaps bring down for her pack. But there others seemed to share the idea. Well she enjoyed helping others whenever it was needed. She approaches and within a low voice she offers them her help.

Vulcan wasnt too far when the smell of blood caught his attention away. He had been going here and there, a loner in all the meanings of it. He just hasnt found a home, a purpose, one long ago stolen. Taken from him. He would had been a king, an alpha. But no, all of it came down, and here he was now. A mere wandering soul, one who only had his own shadow as company, as travelling partner. He dd everything on his own, hunting, defending himself and most importantly staying alive. And he could be selfish, but it was just how life was. Take or die. But when the opportunity of hunting larger animals than the scraps he was used to came around, he would take it without question. "I will help also. Name's Vulcan." He didnt know if he would still be part of the Preator family, nor if his father still considered him a son. But well, that was a matter for another day. "-" |

Venturing out from Ashen for relief from her duties as Renja, the petite fae made her way east toward the coast. It happened to be a warm weathered day and she was thankful that she had asked one of the pups to braid her long tail hairs the day before. Keeping herself clean was a priority! Crossing out from under the shade of willows into the delta area, she inhaled a fresh breath of salt. Living inland provided better protection but a sunny afternoon at the beach was always a pleasant time.
As she turned her trajectory toward the beachy areas of the delta, a strong scent of blood caught her attention. Followed quickly by that was the scent of several others. Pausing her gloved paws, Celeste listened. Lifting her horned crown, she picked out what direction they were in and decided to investigate. What she saw were four wolves eyeing a particularly injured but large water buffalo. Curious, she lifted a brow as she approached on silent paws.
"Need some more help?" She murmured with a smirk on her lips. "I'm Celeste, Renja to Ashen," the girl added on for politeness in case any of the others happened to be from a friendly pack.

The racing festival had come to an end and so the sun-kissed youth had begun her long trek back to the island nation of Ashen. The youth was reinvigorated, a bounce to her step that hadn’t been there before the festivities she had participated in. Though Ciannait’s plan was to return to the islands of her new home, the girl’s lust for adventure caused her to take a detour. Though the yearling was part of Ashen, Cian found herself missing the life of a wanderer. Despite the challenges her old life had forced upon her, the striped she-wolf had enjoyed traveling, and still did.
Instead of heading directly home, slender limbs shifted further eastward. She scented salt upon the air, and wondered if there was another ocean much like the one which her island home was located. Curiosity drove the youth forward, and soon she was upon what appeared to be a delta. The winds blew richly sea scent air which Ciannait found quite pleasant. The earthen toned youth stood motionless for a moment, the oceanic breeze brushing through her pelt. It was then that a call rose into the air. It was a call for help, but didn’t seem extremely urgent, simply an invitation.
Cian moved to answer the call, scenting others upon the wind. Soon the youth stumbled upon a blood trail, head lowered to inspect it. It seemed recent enough, and the cloven hoof tracks spoke of a similar tale. Whatever had created them was wounded, and recently. Perhaps the gathering scents were converging on this wounded creature, to take advantage of its weakness. Two-tones limbs continued onwards, tracking the trail, pausing only when the creature crossed water and became harder to trace.
Eventually the yearling of Ashen found several other wolves gathered, most of which Ciannait failed to recognize. A couple held the scent of pack, one of her own pack, but another carrying a pack scent she did not know. Others were loners, so the youth had figured that this was not a pack hunt which had strayed far from their lands, but rather a hunt open to those willing to help as the earlier call had suggested. Turquoise lenses glanced at the she-wolf with ram horns, recognizing her as the lady Ciannait had asked to be her hunting mentor during the previous pack meeting. Though the woman hadn’t given her an answer then, Cian nodded to the more experienced huntress before taking in the wounded creature which limped along the delta. ”Looking for another to join? I could help out if you guys still need it,” Ciannait said in lowered volumes so as not to startle the already shaken beast before them.

"Name's Tallulah Colt." She introduced herself each time a new wolf came along. At last, they had enough to harass and kill the buffalo. A few did ask about a plan and she turned an abrasing eye over the small crowd. "Celeste, Jane, and I'll chase the buffalo" she decided, finding it amusing they'd defer to a yearling when they were nearly all older than her "Vulcan and the others? You'll cut it off" she waited to see if there was anything wrong with the plan before continuing "we splinter it, addin' bites and wounds. It'll fall." It had to. Tallulah nodded before collecting her small party of hunters. She lead Jane and Celeste to where the water buffalo tried to hesitantly rest. She gave a loud yap, charging the potential prey. It bellowed in alarm, swinging its body to meet her. She veered to the side to avoid the antlers, aiming a bite at the hindquarters. It became red and a bit of blood, but not steady bleeding. The wound already had harrassed it enough, and the buffalo took off after Tallulah bit. 2/3 - extra large hunt (water buffalo!) next round is 28th |

Others came. After they were all gathered and each gave their name in turn Ruu spoke up. “Ngurulivu Ancora-Desorosiers.” She chuckled. Her name was… a mouthful and a half from her first name to last. “Call me Nuru though, save yourselves some trouble.” After introductions were over her gaze focused on Tallulah as a game plan was laid out. Cool, so she was going to be one of the ones cutting it off before they all attacked it and tried to bring it down. Worked for her. She was the oldest one here but it felt natural to rely on Tallulah. The girl had some serious hunting prowess after all. Wasting no time she started to circle around, trying to move in an opposite pincher than Vulcan and Ciannait took. If they all came in together they would be able to get it no problem, she felt. She moved quickly, paws treading across the ground with ease, as she hurried to get into position while the chasers moved their position. It wouldn’t take long for the beast to get to running, no doubt with the three at its heels, and Ngurulivu broke into a run, circling inward to help with her part of the job. Fangs flashed and a snarl bubbled up in her throat as she boldly leaped before the prey animal to assist in cutting off its path, barking and leaping to the side to prevent what was thought to be an easy exit. The buffalo snorted, slowing to a stop as each hunter moved into place. And once they were all ready Ngurulivu would be leaping at the animal to do some damage. ------------

She was dying ti hunt and do so with so many potential new friends! She was always happy to meet new wolves and hunt while she did. Her two favorite activities in one place.
"Will do that!"
With the plans laid, she followed Tallulah and her team to begin their assault. And like that they charged towards the beats, and she did her best to appear scary to make it run.
She did as always the job to distract it, to get it's attention away from her team to perhaps give them the window to attack.

The yearling gave each group their task. He felt weird to be ordered by someone younger than him. It felt .. odd. But he was here simply to get something out of it, even if he had to .make exceptions just for this time. He got posted with the other woman Nuru. And without sharing any words he followed her to prepare for their move. He was thankful that they didn't waste time. The assault started quiet promptly. As the others went to chase, he rushed aaswell among to place himself behind the buffalo, clear intentions or ripping it's skin off. Aiming to do so by lining his body with it's left side, jaws open as he bites on the buffalos left fore leg, trashing his head to the sides to cause as much damage as possible.. "-" |

” Ciannait,” the earthen youth quickly added as she had realized she had yet to offer her name. However, the only reason she even remembered was due to the long-winded name Nuru had provided. Cian couldn’t help but glance at the woman with slight surprise. The yearling was glad that the teal-lensed woman had offered an easier nickname though.
Soon the plan was laid out by the merle youth. Three would give chase, Jane, Tallulah, and Celeste. The other group, including herself, would cut the beast off once the chase began. This was a dangerous hunt, and though no one was assigned the duty to take the killing blow, Ciannait knew when the opportunity was there it would be taken. Turquoise lenses watched as Nuru took her position and was soon following Vulcan and his fiery pelt on their target’s opposite side. Where Vulcan stopped at the rear, the striped youth continued forward, matching Nuru’s pace.
The chaser team quickly began, surprising the horned beast and causing it to turn towards them. She spotted Tallulah face the beast head on for a split second and then whip around toward its hindquarters, Celeste distracting it with yips, growls and barks. After a moment, the wounded beast took off, and the hunt began.
Ciannait took quick steps, holding her position along the beast’s left side, safely away from its deadly horns and hind limbs. She did not want to be caught in either of their striking range. The moment Nuru moved to cut off their prey, Ciannait did the same, shifting her position nearer the beast’s front left shoulder. Jaws parted, growls leaving her maw, head tucked, and auds pulled down upon her earthen crown. The youth wanted to make herself as small a target as possible while still throwing out her own damaging bites. The water buffalo reared back, rolling its head to and fro in a threatening manner. Though it was wounded, the beast was putting up a fight. A fight Ciannait thought best avoided.

A familiar scent caught her attention. Turning to glance at the approaching earthen woman, Celeste smiled in her direction. Yes, she'd been terrible at gathering a lesson together for the both of them, but it would be good to see what she could do today. Give her some type of idea of what the girl needed to learn most when they got back to Ashen. Switching her attention back to the group, she gave a firm nod of understanding when the Tallulah girl informed them of how this would work.
Moving her paws slowly over the muddy landscape, she took up the rear behind Jane and Tallulah. Keeping one eye on the rest of the group as they spread out, Celeste waited for an opening. Releasing her own sharp barks in the direction of the wounded beast as it began to take off, she kept tight on its heels. Careful to stay out of the way of its desperate kicks, she would snap at its heels and patiently drive the beast into the ground until Tall gave a signal.

The buffalo's panic was high in the air. Apparent and obvious to all who saw it. The bigger wolves cut the prey off, adding gashes and wounds to an already hurt animal. Tallulah avoided the kicking and gouging best she could, running to the side in a short burst of speed and avoiding the majority. Once the beast stumbled, she launched herself at its back. The exposed neck is ripe for the taking and she takes it. Biting down hard, she hears a soft crunch. The buffalo bellows at the added pressure. Nobody knows who killed the beast in the end. They all added their own wounds, in different ways. The important thing to note is that it died fighting. Tallulah hopped off its back and bowed her head momentarily to the prey. Giving its life to them? A selfish and selfless act. Selfish on their part, selfless on the buffalo. "Good work" Tallulah says in the end, blood and sweat dripping from the girl "everyone, take yer pieces. Ya can eat here or take food back to yer packs if ya have one." She tore off a smaller section of the haunch and began to eat. 3/3 - extra large hunt (water buffalo!) no post order! exits if you want! |

Swiftly the hunt came to a close, and as every participant helped bring the beast down, it was harmless for the most part. Team work oftend proved to be even stronger that size and strength alone. They managed to bring an animal much larger and heavier than them combined. She kept with the attempts of distraction, of getting it busy with trying to hit her, thankfully her size and reduced weight made her agile and quick in her paws. Now dead, she smiled at the rest, feeling accomplished and honored with hunting with whom she saw as impressive hunters. She enjoyed the moment and will never forget it, as she did with everything in her life. "Thanks a lot! I had a lot of fun!" She said as she ate only a bit for then taking a good portion of the buffalo's skin and use it to carry good chunks of meat. She wanted to bring some back to the Hollows. "Looking forward to hunt again if we ever cross paths again!" And like that she left. -- EXIT -- "Talk, 'Think.' |

With blood now painting his already red hairs, he aimed to keep it down. Causing as much pain and damage that his massive jaws and sharp fangs could give. No regrets, no more waiting, no more staying back and watch. It was time for him to take the reins of his fucking life. He was done of being a ghost of who he should had been, as it came down and soon perished his silver eyes full of hatred with his life,he felt go of the beats leg. Looking blankly at those around. There was Celeste who he had meet many seasons ago. During the well know long night. It was fine if she didnt recognized him, it was a long ago they met. He nodded to them all, before taking his share of the meat. Eating as much as he could, before taking some with him for later. Lips lifted slightly at the mention of a pack. He had none, but it didnt matter right now. Someday he would have one, but for now he would take this to wherever he was staying at the time. -- exit -- "-" |

The others came in and Ngurulivu moved to slash and tear at the beast’s flesh with ripping motions. She’d dance back, avoiding limbs, only to come back in once more to tear at the wounds she made again. It was messy and hard, but they were all doing their part to bring the beast down. She even saw Tallulah get on the beast’s back, adding pressure and strain to its already weakened body by adding a bite to the neck. The beast likely ended up dying from blood loss, no particular wound taking its life, but it had gotten weaker and weaker as it fought, and, eventually, it had perished. Tallulah took her meat and settled down, and the red man moved to eat as well. The silver woman, Jane, took some meat with her for her pack. Ngurulivu had taken a good chunk herself, though it was for herself and her brother. She’d have to make a trek to the North to share it with Florian but it was appreciated meat all the same. A meal they wouldn’t have been able to enjoy if the other wolves in this hunt hadn’t all worked together. She glanced at those still present, dipping her head to them. “An enjoyable hunt, thank you. I hope that you all enjoy it - It is a well-deserved meal.” Then, to Tallulah directly she shifted her attention and gave a small smirk. “As for you, Tallulah, until next time. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before we cross paths again.” With that said she picked up her share of the meal and headed off. --------Exit-------- Extra-Large Hunt (Water Buffalo) - 3 / 3 "Talk, 'Think.' |

The beast continued to struggle despite it's increasing wounds. Ciannait watched the creature with admiration, maybe not fully understanding it's plight, but understanding the struggle to live. This beast was a warrior in its own right and the earthen yearling felt proud to be facing such a challenging foe.
The beast kicked as the dappled woman sprung onto the water buffalo's back, jaws clamping down upon it's neck. The beast swung it's head back, attempting to dislodge the wolf from his neck, trying to throw the woman off. The opportunity was provided and the yearling was quick to take it. Slender limbs swiftly brought the young she-wolf daringly towards the front, a growl leaving her parting jaws as she aligned them to the jugular of the beast. Fangs flashed and Cian's jaws clamped shut around the beast's throat. She held on for dear life, turquoise lenses never closing as she continued to watch the buffalo's slowing struggle.
Eventually the beast had fallen and the striped yearling allowed her grip on the fallen creature's throat to release. The adrenaline caused the youth to stand there momentarily as everyone thanked each other. She didn't care that they didn't recognize that she had made the final blow. She was just glad everyone was unharmed. Cian listened as their lead hunter, Tallulah, stated that the team could either eat here or take their share to their packs, if they belonged to any. Cian chose to eat a small bite before taking her share for Ashen. She would be glad to tell her story, how a bunch of random wolves teamed up to take down a massive warrior beast. ”Good work everyone,” the yearling said, ”I look forward to seeing everyone again sometime!” and then the yearling was on her way, a short glance at Celeste as she nodded to the older Ashen woman.

As the rest of the group surrounded the beast, they continued to run it down. Each wolf took their turn grabbing hold, taking their chances, and working the buffalo down until it could no longer run. Using her own teeth to nip at its heels and stay out of the way of its flailing legs, Celeste helped to keep the pressure on. Her intermittent barks were dulled by the cacophony of noise surrounding her. From a human's standpoint, one might think she was half border collie.
After what felt to be ages, the beast fell. Its hooves ceased to move as its eyes dimmed and its body fell to the ground. Darting out of the way so she wasn't stepped on by another wolf, Celeste glanced over to her packmate. Thankful that Cian didn't sustain any injuries during the hunt, Celeste waited her turn until she could grab a piece large enough for herself. One ear would flick in Tallulah's direction as the western woman spoke. Nodding her thanks to Tallulah, she turned her gaze to glance also at Vulcan. Her memory could be foggy sometimes but she did recognize the fiery-coated man.
Once her work was done, she nodded once more to everyone, adding on a quiet smile before taking her leave.
