It would do good to gather the budding healers of Tojo-kai together for some training. She would have invited Sedna, but the new mother was often busy wrangling and teaching her growing pups. So she called Sayuri and Rheum to a small clearing where she had gathered some supplies for today. The weather would hold off for now as clouds rolled in off the ocean. Setting the bundle of supplies such as bandages, tourniquets, balms, salves, and other items in the center, Tenshi took a seat. As the other two would gather around, she smiled gently. "Afternoon ladies, I figured it might be useful if we do a bit of training," her voice is even and friendly as her gaze flits between the almost one-year-old Rheum and the lovely Sayuri. "Since we live in a warmer climate compared to Boreas, it would do us all good to go over how to treat dehydration,"  she pauses there and waits to see if the other two have any questions. It was fun being included with the grown-ups! Especially with something that interested her and not her siblings. So when Tenshi asked her and Sayuri to do some training together, the growing pup didn't hesitate to accept. She had raced off once the sun was high in the sky and only managed to stumble a few times on her way there. Out of breath but with a smile still on her plum lips, Rheum looked at the other two females with a fast wag of her tail. Quickly taking a seat beside Sayuri and Tenshi, she eyed the bundle of supplies in the middle. Turning her attention to Tenshi and then to Sayuri, she tilted her head slightly. "What is dehydration?" Rheum asked curiously, still wondering why they needed all those supplies!

She would gladly come when called, though disappointed it was not Kuroo-chan doing it. Still, the offer of learning more things was a boon. A blessing. Not a silly matter. She walked to the little gathering and noticed Rheum-chan already there. Brushing against the pup in a friendly manner, she sat next to her. Her ears piqued when she heard the girl's question.

"When one loses more fluids" Sayuri chirped "than one takes in" In simple terms though? "a loss of liquids - like water." She fell silent, glancing at Tenshi. She knew she was right, even if the woman could add more to her explanation. She tried to make it simple for Rheum-chan to learn and listen from. So they were to treat dehydration...

She wondered if Askell was still going through this.

1/3 - heal training

Pleased that the other two were eager to join her, Tenshi was beginning to feel more at home within Tojo-kai. While it was drastically different than her home in the mountains north of Iga, she would learn to adjust and adapt to her new environment. Keeping more of an eye on Rheum since her knowledge was lower than Sayuri's, she waited patiently. Gaze flickering from the pup who asked about dehydration toward Sayuri who answered in simple terms, Tenshi nodded. "Dehydration is caused by heat, sickness, and overdoing activities like walking, playing, and fighting," she too would attempt to keep her terms simple for Rheum. It would not do to complicate or overwhelm the girl. "Do you know what could cure someone of dehydration?" Her question might be too hard, but she knew if Rheum would get off track, Sayuri would help her understand. Participate in Healing Training - 2/3

Her attention turned quickly to Sayuri as the girl answered her question. Nodding slowly to motion that she understood the words being said, her head turned when Tenshi spoke. Heat, walking, fighting, lots of things caused dehydration! Rheum's brow furrowed for a moment as she considered Tenshi's question, but she had other questions too! "If water helps cure dehydration, why do we live by salt water? Mama says that's not safe to drink!" Her nose wrinkled as she looked between the older wolves. "Or is there something else that helps cure it?" Rheum's tail wags as she hopes she is on the right track.

"We rehydrate the individual" Sayuri was prompted to reply "give them cold water back" and "sit then in shade, make them not move for a bit to stop them from fainting" but mostly "drinking will replenish their lack of fluids." Though Rheum-chan had valid questions. She smiled at the girl, her eyes twinkling to Tenshi to answer.

"Yes, why?" She would prompt their teacher, knowing Tojo-kai probably picked this location on aesthetic - on looks and familiar scenery. She could also assume that invading parties would not be able to hydrate themselves with the salt water, and Tojo-kai ferreted clean and clear water deeper into the Maze for a potential threat. It was fine to be prepared and also pick based on location but...

She was curious if there was another reason.

2/3 - heal training

She listened to Rheum's questions and nodded in agreement while Sayuri spoke. Everything that was said was true and when the question was turned on her, she gave herself a moment to think. Pleased that Sayuri had asked about why they lived so close to salt water rather than fresh, Tenshi let loose a small smile. Reaching for the back that lay between them, she reached in and grabbed a wooden shovel that had been carefully carved. Grabbing it carefully between her paws, she stuck it in the dirt and dug a few scoops until the ground beneath began to moisten. "While the maze is pretty, there are other benefits. The root system of the bamboo helps retain rainfall so when we need a well, it is not hard to find," she points to a few drops that begin to form around the inside edges of the hole. "If we dig deep enough, the water will begin to fill quickly and it is ready to use for rehydrating," Tenshi sets the spade aside and looks to Rheum and Sayuri. "Are there any other questions?" She is curious to see what the other two come up with. Participate in Healing Training - 3/3

Rheum listened intently to Sayuri's words. Drinking water will replenish fluids. That was important, yes. "Eating snacks will help too, yes?" The pup confirms as she knows from other training that when one doesn't eat, they could also faint. There was a lot to keeping someone alive! Nodding slowly to herself, Rheum turns her gaze to Tenshi when Sayuri also asks why they lived so close to the sea. She knew of one large well that they got their water from, but was not expecting what happened next.

Her eyes grew wide as she watched Tenshi dig a hole in the ground between them. It was like magic happening before her very eyes as she saw the water begin to seep in. "So we can dig wells wherever we go if we need water? Is that how that works? Or must there be plant roots around?" Rheum wished she could be more helpful in the training, but she was also learning so much! It made her itch to want to explore more of Auster and hopefully one day Boreas!

Tenshi retrieved a shovel, digging and revealing freshwater underneath. "Perhaps we should make a proper well..." Sayuri mused to the woman, wondering if Hanzo Hattori would approve of such a project. Rheum-chan's proposal of feeding a patient that was dehydrated was met with a thoughtful frown but also thought.

"If you give a patient food, you must remember to make that hydrated as well" Sayuri pointed out to the girl "fruit retains water better than meat" she advised "though I am uncertain about the water in the roots..." She tilted her head, turning her gaze to Tenshi once more "is there a spring under the Maze?" she asked, curious.
