Takes place a wee bit after people go missing, I'm just slow.

This was the place, it seemed. The scent of blood lingered in the air, glaringly out of place in what should have been a laid back, friendly gathering. Had he known this was how things would have ended he would have forbade the wolves of Tojo to come here, but it was a little too late for that, wasn't it? All that was left to do was pick up the pieces, work out what happened and punish the guilty. But finding the culprit, or culprits was far easier said than done. For all he knew they were already long gone, slipped back into the shadows, never to be found.

In truth, he knew this was not his problem to solve. Only one Tojo wolf had gone missing, not a massive loss and yet he couldn't push it from his mind. He was like a dog with a bone, insistent on getting to the bottom of this with or without anyone else's help.

And so he tipped his head back and called for anyone and everyone who might have an interest in what had happened here. Might have a pack mate, friend or ally or had gone missing. A name they could put to the smeared blood in the snow.

Usagi didn’t know his missing packmate very well. Sayuri, her name was - a fine-boned, streamlined koi woman who’d disappeared as suddenly as she had appeared, in the bamboo maze they called home. Where’d she left, the environment was a stark contrast - a smattering of bony pine trees, frosted, frozen earth that felt like sheetrock beneath his feet. And the ever permeating chill that leeched into every cell of his bones. With an involuntary shiver that wrenched down his spine, the Hohei had been at a loss for what to do. Sayuri was more or less a stranger to him, but a close friend of Kuroo’s. His brother was beyond devastated, unable to be consoled. It wasn’t so much her he wanted to avenge, but his grief-stricken sibling. Nobody hurt Kuroo and got away with it. Nobody stole innocent lives, leaving bloodshed and slipping into the mire of fog and snow. Not if Usagi had anything to do with it. He was a hound at Hattori’s discretion, ready to be given orders and standing alert for action. He would do anything his superior asked of him for help.

”Kaicho,” Usagi rumbled as he approached, double-bladed sword sheathed and slung over his shoulder. He hadn’t slipped it off since he’d comforted Kuroo that morning. If the killer was still around - and it was likely they were somewhere in the region - he didn’t mind tracking some trail, or finding some evidence that could lead them to the culprit. Hattori was correct, with only one Tojo wolf missing it wasn’t entirely their problem to take the laws of the land into their own paws. But something had to be done, if not for them but also for the safety of others. Some aspect of that had to be their concern, as well. ”Anything I can do to help?” Usagi inquired, casting a glance to the smattering of blood - sickly crimson amongst dull ochre and ivory landscape. He flicked his gaze back to his leader, ready for anything the larger man asked of him.
