Zakuma

They had finally found a place to rest, thank goodness for that. Beau was sure that he’d spent at least one of his lives wandering about with Zakuma, trying to find somewhere that the two of them could settle during the colder months that had settled over Auster. To truly be comfortable, however, it felt like they were going to have to travel between both Auster and Boreas… something that the rather fat feline was not looking forward to in the slightest. He let out a soft sigh, flopping down in some grasses by the pool at the bottom of the falls. He had little doubt that the pools were great for fishing… but Beau was an odd cat. The smell and taste of fish were revolting to the cat, and he couldn’t stand them. Truthfully he would have loved some turkey, or maybe some other type of bird, though their feathers were always such a pain to get through and agitated his allergies. It was hard being a cat, dammit. Folks thought it was all sunbathing and sunshine but no! He was just lucky to find a patch of grass not covered in snow, and he figured it was because how close it was to the falls was the reason there was no snow there… …that and he was getting wet. Though he didn’t mind the water. He groaned… they needed to find somewhere more official to den down but he had been feeling so lazy and drained from their trek that he just flopped down. “Zakummmmma.” Beau whined. “Are you sure you wouldn’t be happier in Boreas right now? It’s so cold here, I feel like I’m freezing my whiskers off!” "Talk," 'Think.' |

The fluffy white fox blinks as he couldn't tell at the moment. His tail flicking back and forth as he slid across the frozen water. He didn't even remember getting in the water at this point. However as he slid across the water he looked to beau. "I said we could stay in the tundra for summer, but you were worried I would over heat. " He finally was stopped as he found himself sliding into a large pile of snow. The fox mostly unfazed by the cold weather he couldn't feel the snow for the most part. His body blending really well which made the snow look like it had ears and a tail until he shook it off his body.
"Sadly I don't think we would make the trip back over that long bridge love, so we're kinda stuck here. " However, I do think we would be more comfortable away from the water." he scratched his chin for a moment and looked to her. "I feel we could find some smaller rabbits or rodents if we make our way towards the central area. Which is the easier food for you to enjoy."

It was hard to remain frustrated when Zakuma was sliding across the ice. Beau cracked a small smile at the Arctic fox's antics. "Of course I worry." Beau countered. "It's my job. You don't exactly take care of yourself." The fat tom cat rolled back to his paws. "With it being winter here the warm months would have undoubtedly settled in… Boreas, was it? It's too risky to travel right now. We're better off finding a place to settle for now." Beau looked down at his toes.
"We're going to have to find somewhere inland as it gets colder though - you're right. I feel like my toes are freezing off." The tom cat moved to the edge of the pool where the water had frozen into ice and tested it with one paw. "Be careful. The ice doesn't feel stable." Then, at the mention of food, Beau flicked his tail. "We can only try. I bet I could find some mice here, too." He glanced around.
"It is a really pretty area though. I kind of like it."
