PARTING IS SUCH SWEET SORROW

It is time. Her princes and princesses are strong enough now, their knees no longer wobbly as she observes them in their daily adventures. She adores them, both her own and Raisa?s, and the thought of returning to Olympus almost feels like a knife to her chest. And yet, it is inevitable. They are both determined women, and Virgil Olympus has a life to lead. She cannot live here playing housewife through her whole existence; there is a world and she means to take it by fire. She calls for her children, both her own and Raisa?s along with her ebony-pelted lover, and reclines. Other pack members are, of course, welcome to show their faces and say their goodbyes. Virgil trusts them, but the affair will be an emotional one, and she will already struggle with parting from her mate and her step children. It is a pain she wishes she didn?t have to bare, but it is necessary. Perhaps one day things will be easier, but today will be the first day she breaks her children?s hearts. |

Gaia was starting to feel comfortable around the Embony den, she knew where all the plants were and as long as no on left a stray twig she got around quite well. It was obvious her confidence was building, at least while they were at the site of her birth. She enjoyed the sounds of ebony, along with its many scents and surfaces. The dirt was pleasing beneath her toes and her family was here. She could not imagine leaving the place she had been born. Her mother had felt odd the whole day, not physically different but Gaia could feel an odd tension about her. She would come to no surprise when Virgil let out a summoning call. However the what and why were still very much a mystery.?
Her paws would carry her to her mother's side, a timid nudge would be given to the queen. Gaia knew not what their meeting would bring, so the caution she had been hiding away would show through. Ashen grey ears were pulled back against her skull as uncertainty held her close, only the approach of Andromeda would case change in her stature. A shy smile would appear on her lips as her features swiveled to their empress mother. "Mom, what's going on?" already visually in the dark she preferred to know what was going to happen.?

Her little ones come for the most part, at the very least those born of her own thighs being in perfect attendance. She nuzzles the tops of each child?s head, perhaps lingering longer on her adopted offspring. She will miss them terribly, but this is the price she pays. Andromeda is first, receiving motherly affection from the golden Empress. Her heiress asks what?s happening, and Virgil waits for the arrival of others. Hephaestus greets her with Greek, her lips quirking upwards into a grin at his potential proficiency.
Her ears perk up at Nemesis?s greeting, laughing at his enthusiasm. ?One day, my love, you will be big enough to eat monsters,? she tells him, nuzzling the top of his skull, pressing a kiss amongst the fur there. Kassandar comes in next, curious as the other children, then Svetlana, and lastly Sigmarr. ?It is time for me, Andromeda, Gaia, Hephaestus, and Nemesis to go my loves. You will get to see your siblings plenty, but we do have to go,? she explains, no room for argument in her voice. It pains her to do this; their packs as so far and they have lived with her as a mother and them as siblings for so long. For now she awaits their reactions, expecting nothing short of dismal.
