bonfire resolutions
Incubus was honestly fed up with all the fiddly crafting he'd been doing lately. Straw Wolves, decorations, and whatever else. It's not that he really hated doing it, it's just it wasn't his strong suit. Each time he offered something to the familiars he couldn't help but feel inferior to some others that were offering such grand creations. He couldn't compare. Incubus was not one to really compare himself to others on the day to day. But, he also didn't normally crafty so many diddly bops to hand over to ghosts either. That being said, the male spent the majority of the day figuring out how to create something that meant enough to offer to the bonfire. It couldn't be something just tossed together for the sake of spooky decoration. No, it had to mean something. Incubus spent a lot of time reflecting on what the item would be but also what it would represent. What did Incubus Klein want to change about himself? Well, thanks to the ghosts he had already been shoved into a rather significant transitional period. Upon coming back to Boreas he really didn't have any goals or ambitions other then eventually reuniting with his family. But, when he took the walk through the Plateau Inc reflected on how fast time was moving and the fundamentals of life itself. It led to him having quite an impactful breakthrough that actually led him to changing his outlook on his own life. Incubus knew that time was slipping away and he couldn't spend the rest of however long he had left roaming around aimlessly. So, that walk gave him the kick in the rump he needed to seek out his family. He made the first move in seeking out his family but what did he need to improve upon long term to maintain such motivation? Consistency. This was the key to him continuing down the right path. To making a name for himself and being there for his family. Incubus knew he needed to resist any doubts that swelled within him when times got tough. When shit got annoying he couldn't just slip away. If he was going to be a fundamental part of the Empire or even just a cog in it's wheels, he had to be there. But, these thoughts brought him to why he was this way. Hannibal. His father was not the sole reason behind his commitment issues but he was a driving force. Inc's sire wasn't really there for him in his first year of life and this led him to growing distant with his family very early on. There was a rather thick cloud of negativity that lingered over his father and their litter as whole. Hannibal came and went as he pleased, twisting the hearts of his loved ones with little remorse, and this left a rather significant impression on Inc from a young age. This allowed him to succumb to the temptations of leaving Ashen and living the life his father did for some time. But, this was exactly what needed to change. Incubus did not want to be remembered as some deadbeat asshole, just as his father was. Thus, the not so creative Klein managed to craft a token that represented the flippant beast that he called father. Incubus took the same approach for his bone wreath he made for the altar decoration but put a much more meaningful spin on it. Six wooden sticks were connected to one another with strands of rawhide to make a makeshift circle. He tucked bundles Yarrow flowers into the joints to represent the the rather obvious physical attribute of his father, his white pelt. There was also a small, yet tasteful, amount of Valerian Root and Juniper tucked into the bushels of Yarrow to represent Hannibal's eyes. In completion the wreath was very simple, but rather meaningful. Once Incubus was ready he moved towards the green flames. The warmth of the fire licked it's way towards him as he drew closer. Incubus took in the height of the pyre and he was rather impressed. Only magic could manage such a thing. But, after some time of observation he closed the distance between himself and the flames. Incubus lowered his head before flicking it back up. With one swift motion those jaws parted and his wreath was tossed into the fire, imagining his issues going with it. He watched as the flowers burned almost immediately and the sticks caught not too long after. "I cannot change who my Father is, nor would I want to. But, I can change how he lives on through me." In such a short amount of time the object he spent so much time on was gone. But, with that came a new chapter in his life. The shadow his father casted over him was gone and it was time to prove to both himself and his family that he was void of those lingering commitment issues. Inc was to be a changed Wolf and he would keep himself accountable to keep it up. - Without another word Incubus turned around and left. WC: 854
