It had been too long since she last seen her family and days since she found Boreas. Within that time she had managed to set up camp in the Valley. Her den was along the bank of a stream. There was a large fallen tree propped up against a boulder and the babe could slip in beneath it. The tree looked like it had been there for some time and must have fallen long ago. She was not worried about it moving by any means and most other predators didn't bother her. The Valley was mostly full of smaller prey or grazers. Predators stuck to the mountains around them in the various caves but they did come out for meal time. That was for sure. But, the former Princess had no interest in drawing attention to anything or anyone too intimidating. Her only goal was to stay put for as long as she could and venture out along the west to find any sign of her loved ones.

This was not the day for adventure, though. Vaella had just returned to her makeshift den to find something had gotten into her stores. The babe was stashing away a lot of the various useful herbs she found in her exploration. The discovery was rather annoying and drew forth a few hushed curses but all she could do is replenish. So, that was what she spent her day doing. Herb hunting.

It was mid day and the sun was beaming down on the Valley when she set forth. Sure it was warm but she was slowly growing use to climate of the region. At first it was grueling to even go out if there weren't a good amount of clouds in the sky. - Nevertheless the fae moved her way through the lush grass in hopes of finding some herbs. As she moved those beaming blue eyes were scanning the nature before her. She made sure to check various bunches of bushes and around the scattered trees. But, her first find was a patch of Boneset that was hidden in a swell of tall grass. The babe grinned gently as she leaned down and picked a small bundle of the herb. It was a useful herb that could help with muscle aches. She remembered Verra going on about it after they all had their first fight training session. Of course her sister was much more excited about the herb to use after a fight then the fight itself. - The thought brought forth a pang of sorrow.

Vaella carried the bundle between her teeth as she moved to walk the bank of the creek. She would head back towards her den to drop off her find but if she walked along the bank she may be able to find something in addition to the Boneset that could be useful. With eyes peeled the Velennis femme slithered along the moist path. A small breeze swept through the region, bringing forth the lovely scents of prey, and offering a delightful comfort. - It wasn't long before another herb came into view. The vibrant Valerian Root grew a few feet from the bank at the base of a large boulder. A small twinge of excitement fluttered through the lithe being as she set the Boneset down and plucked a good bundle of Valerian Root. Vaella then grabbed both herbs and swiftly made her way back to the den.

Upon arrival Vaella set her treasures down and took a moment to look over the space she was working with. There wasn't much, at all. But, she had to figure out a way to store the herbs without some pesky scavenger coming to commit thievery. She didn't have any jars or bowls laying around. Well, she had pretty much nothing laying around. So, she would have to be a bit more creative. - Vaella turned around to face the creek and allowed her eyes to rake against its bank. Quickly the gal moved to grab a decent sized, flat, rock from the bank and moved it to the den. She did this a few more times until she had four rocks piled together. Vaella grabbed the herbs and tucked them away at the back of the den before covering them with the rocks. She was careful to not squish the herbs by leaning the rocks on one another. After she was done the fae merely nodded, hoping whatever stole from her the first time wouldn't bother with the rocks in the way. Especially since she suspected it was a smaller animal.

Considering her hiding spot a job well done she decided to head back out into the Valley in search for more useful herbs or even easy prey to catch for lunch. Her belly was rumbling ever so slightly, reminding her of her lack of food stores. - With having to flee her homeland she was faced with cruel reality. Vaella wasn't able to request a lamb leg or fresh berries with honey. No, she was stuck with mostly fish and small creatures she could manage to catch. It was something she knew she had to get use to, but some help from her family would be appreciated. Wherever the hell they were..
