Briar had a feeling that she probably wasn't the fun parent when it came to learning things about fighting. After all, their sons at least had very much taken an interest in wielding a sword just like their father so of course Artorias would be the go to for those kinds of lessons. However, they had to do something other than fighting from time to time! That's where she tried to focus her attention when it came to teaching their children about the world and her sweet Ciaran had shown at least a bit of interest in hunting so she thought that perhaps she could cultivate a bit of that curiosity with him.
Since she needed to prepare dinner for their family anyway, she brought Ciaran along, deciding this was the perfect chance to start showing him a bit of how to dress something he caught. There was a doe waiting in the kitchen that she had asked Ezra not to fully break down so that she could show her promising hunter some of the ropes. She brought her son over to the counter, pulling over a stool and helping him up onto it so he could see over the edge. The doe was already cut down along its stomach and it's organs already out of the way. "See how Ezra cut along here?" she said, lifting a paw and pointing from one end of the incision to the other. "It's really helpful to keep a knife or at least a dagger with you when you go hunting to do something like this. If you can remove the guts it makes the animal lighter and easier to carry back home."

Kea padded along obediently as his mother bid him to. He grinned at the stool that was pulled out for him, and hopped up. Enjoying the sensation of being tall for a moment as he stood there, looking across the counter. Soon enough, his mother was pulling his attention to the food in front of him. Pointing out a cut.
As his mum spoke about the benefits of having a knife on hand to clean the kill, he straightened, his eyes snapping to Briar. “That makes sense mumma.” He agreed immediately. “Can I have a knife and try the cut out?” he asked immediately after, wondering if it would really be that easy.

Briar hadn't really thought about the fact that she was essentially offering a knife to a pup when she was giving him the lesson about how to prepare their meal until she noticed Ciaran perk up and then request a knife so he could try out the cut. She smirked a bit and chuckled, reaching over a paw to gently ruffle the fur on his head. "When you're older I'll make sure you have your own hunting knife. Until then, I don't think sharp knives are a good idea." She grinned and gave him a wink and added, "Good try, though."
Turning her attention back to the mostly cleaned deer in front of them, she pulled the deer closer to them started using her paws to pull away the skin with the help of her claws. She caught the flesh with one paw and the skin with he other, pulling it up and revealing the meat underneath. "I like to skin the animal first so that we can use this hide for leather or blankets or all sorts of things, but if you're out in the wilds for some reason and you just need to eat you don'e necessarily have to do this step. you could just get past the skin and start eating if you wanted." She smiled a bit and glanced toward Ciaran, adding, "But since we're not in that situation and we have time to make a nice meal for everyone we might as well do it right, hm?"

“Muuuuuuuuuum” He moaned as she ruffled his fur, telling him he wasn’t ready for a knife yet, but it was a good try. He sighed, and glanced down, before up at her again. Putting on the saddest expression he could. No one seemed to trust him with the fun things, and his mum had even said how handy it was to have a knife and what cuts to make, but he couldn’t even try it out? That wasn’t fair.
He sighed again, but it was clear the lesson was moving on, knife or no. So he turned his attention back to the deer as his mum split the carcass with her paws. “Alright, so how do we skin it?” He asked
