Kipling had left the castle walls behind him, jogging along the grassland, eyes searching to the left then right as he looked for anything of interest.  Hearing a frog he moved close to a large bullfrog, nose getting within a few inches as they both stared at each other.  Kipling reached out a paw to touch it and looked shocked when the frog tried to get the side of his paw on its mouth.  The thing tried twice but had to give up.  It leaped away twice but then stayed still, watching.

Kipling strode towards it again to swat and the strange amphibian hopped further off, wary gaze on the annoying puppy.  Kipling considered following but turned his gaze to the newest bit of interest.  A rabbit was munching on some grass and he’d spotted it!  Kipling charged towards it, puppy snarl given and the rush of excitement as the rabbit fled before him.  It twisted right, left, then right again!  Kipling followed along doggedly but the rabbit got away easier than he’d ever want to admit to.

Glancing back Kipling realized he’d traveled farther out than planned.  Oh well, it was still pack territory though the border was close by this point, signs of the berry grove in sight.  A new sight of interest came in sight.  The pup looked curiously at the bear cub.  It was calling out, trotting along as it tried to find its mother.  Somehow it had apparently gotten lost.  Kipling gave a questioning bark to it and then cub turned to look at him.  The two seemed equally curious about the other.

Kipling left the castle to go explore and, of course, that means that Caladia isn’t far behind him. The grassy plains seem to be his objective and the girl follows behind at long distance. She knows he hates it when others treat him different because of his missing leg but she truly is amazed by his determined spirit. When Kip finds something interesting in the grass, the girl settles down onto her belly, watching but not interrupting his fun. A paw lifts to her mouth to stifle a giggle as her brother and frog have a standoff.

Caladia trails after Kip, keeping him in sight as he chases the creature. When he glances behind him, the girl pops up from the grass and begins to trot toward her brother when her mismatched eyes land on bear cub. Steps stutter as her brows furrow, knowing that the creature probably has a mother around somewhere. Swiftly she trots up to Kipling’s side, saying, “Kip we should go. I think that thing has a big scary mom.” Nervously, she glances at her brother, knowing she won’t leave him with it but hoping he has the good sense to leave the cub alone.
