The grasses were no longer as lush as they were in the spring and summer months, but grass there still was. She had come here in search of prey, hoping to find something small enough to catch on her own. Being on her own meant self-sufficiency was required, but it also meant there were times she went a little hungry. That feeling was not all too uncommon, and her stomach rumbled as she stalked her way through the valley. There was only larger prey here, those which she would need assistance to take down.

Iðunn scoffed under her breath, tail lashing out angrily behind her. Of course she would have bad luck in easy hunting prospects. Her hunger was substantial, strong enough that she was already salivating somewhat by simply looking at the Pronghorn herd in the near distance. Experience with her cousin had taught her it was dangerous enough with two wolves, but hunger could drive a wolf to do things they wouldn't normally.

And so here she was foolishly stalking forward on her own, making sure to keep downwind in the hopes there was a younger doe she could somehow take down on her own. With light steps she moved closer, icy blue eyes darting between each ungulate as she tried to pick out the weakest or smallest one.

Nguruvilu had followed Medusa to the Dancefloor of the Gods, and there she pledged her loyalty to the woman. There were captives from Habari, the pack Medusa had conquered, present at that meeting, and Ruu was sure there were going to be some hard feelings about things, but her concern was not the negativity they would feel towards her for following a woman who kept their freedoms. Nuru could have stayed within Insomnia’s lands and familiarized herself with it, but she found herself restless, and she had decided the only way to remedy that situation was to leave the lands for a while, and go where her paws took her.

She was worried for Florian. He had stayed behind and allowed her to follow Medusa. But he wasn’t in a pack, like Claire, he was on his own… would he be alright? Perhaps she would have to make a trip to the North and check back in on him. But for now, she had made it to some greener part of the west. The grass was slowly browning in places, losing some of its life, but it still felt nicer than the drier areas… like the tar pits that Medusa had claimed for part of Insomnia’s territory.

There was plenty of larger game here, and Ruu hadn’t even realized that her stomach had started to rumble. Hmm, maybe she could make a kill and bring some back for the pups? Although… last time she had hunted a pronghorn the bastard had given her a run for her money, and she had help! Her blue gaze swept the landscape, and fortune seemed to smile on her in the form of another wolf. Nguruvilu approached cautiously, calling out to the woman who seemed to be watching the prey as well.

“Want to team up and take something down? I don’t know about you, but those pronghorns are looking pretty tasty to me.”

It seemed the Old Gods had blessed her with a bit of good fortune, as not long after she began to inspect the herd a fellow wolf appeared, putting out an offer to share the hunt. She hummed softly, nodding at the larger woman. She was similar in size and bulk as her cousin, and would do well in taking down a hardy prey animal. "Help would be appreciated." She would have tried to hunt one of the Pronghorn on her own, even given the dangers they posed, but having another wolf around would make the whole thing that much easier. And less dangerous.

Iðunn turned her gaze back to the herd, continuing her search for a weak or young one that they could take down together. "You have size on your side, if I chase, you can kill it?" She'd help of course by slowing it down to make it an easier target, but in her experience, those wight a weight advantage had an easier time delivering the final blow. She could manage it well enough, but why go against the norm?

The woman took a moment to size her up, Nguruvilu noticed, likely considering her assets to the potential hunt. She said that help would be appreciated, given the potential danger and speed they had, and Ruu gave a nod, mentally prepping herself for the hunt. Her gaze swept the herd along with her new companion, and the woman formulated a plan. “Consider the task done.” Nguruvilu told her. She was used to using her weight to bring down a prey animal. She had a decent amount of experience with hunting by now… and after today she was hoping to have another successful pronghorn hunt under her belt.

Ngurulivu’s ears perked forward, and with a soft grunt, she motioned towards an older fawn towards the backend of the herd. “What about that one? It seems to be favoring one of its front legs as it feeds.” Despite it being a bit younger, she knew injuries would slow the rest of the herd down. She turned her blue gaze towards the other woman, arching a brow. Unless the woman had a better mark in mind, that one seemed as good as any.

The woman agreed to her terms, though Iðunn had had no reason to suspect why she wouldn't have. Her gaze shifted to where the woman motioned, her icy blue gaze fixating on the pronghorn in question. Indeed it was favouring a front leg as it idly moved while grazing, though Iðunn knew from experience that even a severe limp did little to hamper a pronghorn's speed. But even a minor speed reduction helped, especially if they caught it by surprise.

"Good eye," she said quietly, nodding once at the woman before silently moving off from her position. Iðunn crept forward in a half-circle with practiced ease, making sure to stay just on the downwind side of the herd. She would do her best to herd the pronghorn towards the other woman and in the direction of one of the steeper hills where it would struggle to scale the slope in comparison to the rest of the herd.

Without a sound Iðunn sprang forth, not even needing to announce her presence as the pronghorn herd immediately scattered at the movement. She snapped at the heels of another pronghorn to give it incentive to veer off and away from her and her target, making sure to stick to the limping one so it didn't get away, though with all the adrenaline pumping through its veins its limp didn't seem to affect it that much. But she knew once they reached the steep slope it would slow down far faster than the others ahead of it.
