Rhian was, as usual, seeking a fight. She was getting better, she thought. The variety of opponents she had fought was only widening as she kept training. All the way from that tiny girl in the boneyard, to wolves taller and heavier than her. She was beginning to settle into natural fighting instincts that would serve her well. Nobody had hurt her more than a couple scratches and bruises, which was, if not super fun, at least practical since she was alone without a healer and definitely not willing to slow down to coddle an injury. She was looking for someone who would be tough enough to give her a good struggle, but possible to beat. Rhian was arrogant, sure, but even she knew the limitations of her current skills -- though she of course did not believe that there were any limitations of her potential. Right now, she could not fight just any wolf and expect to win. But probably anyone who was really looking for a fight for no reason would also be looking to train, suggesting that she'd likely end up fighting someone around her skill level anyway. Hopefully. No, not hopefully. Rhian wasn't scared of anybody or anything. She might not win, but she'd gladly fight anyone who showed up. |
Rhys moved through The Battlefield with curiosity painted across his pale features. Green eyes took in the sight of dusty sparring rings painted in droplets of stale blood and fragments of tattered weaponry or armor. This was obviously the right place to begin his training. Rhysand had experience with fighting but nothing formal. If he was going to hold his own as a rogue in these pack infested lands he'd need to sharpen his skills. Rhys was not someone who settled for anything less then what he knew he was capable of. Thus, he'd likely be spending a lot of time here. It wasn't long before the scent of a stranger made it his way. Jaws parted to allow the smell to land on his tongue, discovering this Wolf was an unfamiliar female. With little consideration he sauntered his way towards the smell. - After a few minutes those light green eyes feasted upon the sight of a young greyscale femme that seemed to be waiting for an opponent. - Rhys moved to lessen the distance between them, aiming to stand about ten feet from her. "Looking for a fight?" Lips curled into a subtle grin as he eyed the stranger.

It didn't take long for somebody to arrive. A guy that didn't look much older than Rhian was. He was taller, though not by much, and looked kind of scrawny. He strolled right up to her and confirmed that she was looking for a fight. Rhian grinned in return, sure to allow her long fangs to glint in the sunlight. She thought they made her look tough. "Depends on whether you're going to give me a good one," she responded. Because really, why would she ever just say yes, without inserting her own little jabs. She liked to make people mad. It made this all so much more entertaining. She set into a defensive position, growling a little in sheer anticipation. As typical for her, she wouldn't be polite and let her opponent have the first move. She lunged forward to attempt to slip in to his left side of his neck, and shove with the flat, front surface of her fangs against the flesh. Not biting -- she didn't want to kill the guy, at least not yet -- just pushing, with the intent to simultaneously maybe shove him back or even make him fall and also just to show him how close she could get to ripping out his throat and leaving bloody entrails all over this nice field. She was just in that kind of mood. Pale green eyes raked against the sight of those rather imposing fangs. He noticed the number of mutated beings in these lands were incredibly high. Rhys wouldn't be shocked if his next opponent had two legs or a dozen eyes. Obviously the fangs gave the mutant an advantage but that only meant he'd need to push himself harder and the victory would be just that much sweeter. "Depends on whether you're going to give me a good one," Feminine tones broke his train of thought and Rhys raised a brow as his own vocals met the air, "I've had no complaints." Rhys shot her a smirk just before the fight began. Rhysand slipped into a quick defensive stance as the woman charged at him. Ears flattened, head lowered, hackles raised, and weight was evenly distributed between four sturdy paws. Just before impact was made Rhys dug his hind paws into the earth so he didn't stumble backward. A grunt could be heard as the fang slammed into his neck and a growl ripped from his throat as retaliation ensued. Rhys knew he needed to gain the high ground in this situation so the pushing would cease. Thus, the pale male reared up on his hind legs, with a good push off the ground with his front legs, and aimed to wrap his front legs around her neck. The boy grunted but remained in the same place, which was more than a little annoying, but predictable given the small area of impact and the fact that Rhian was not that hefty, her body apparently deciding that it wanted to be more balanced than that. It was the only part of her that was truly average. He growled and sprung onto his hind legs, wrapping his front legs around her neck. That wasn't a great development. Rhian would thrash and struggle as violently as she could in an attempt to break free of the hold at first, but halt that behavior when he bit at her scruff. It didn't hurt overmuch, meaning he probably got mostly fur, but she didn't want to keep writhing around when it might actually cause her injury. That was reckless, even for her. Especially if she didn't have a plan. Instead, she would attempt to suddenly kick up with her front paws and shove at his stomach or chest area as it was in front of her currently, in hopes to throw him back off of her; simultaneously she would butt her forehead into his neck if he was still biting at her scruff. With her thrashing beneath him it was difficult to maintain balance but Rhys was surprisingly able to both wrap his front legs around her neck and land the bite. The bite wouldn't do much damage to the babe but it did get her to stop thrashing, which was beneficial for the both of them. He was able regain his balance, allowing the majority of his weight to evenly distribute between two hind legs. Her next assault came in a burst of two movements happening all at once. Not only did she lift her front paws up to quickly slash at his chest but she also went into for a snub at his throat. The slashing of paws was the least of his worries, the snub managed to get the male to release her scruff and gasp for air. A grunt could be heard as he tried to focus on his breathing, eyes bulged in response. In result, Rhys let go of her completely and all four paws were back on the ground. As soon as those paws hit the ground Rhys lunged forward. With his shoulder jutted forward he attempted to shove the bone into her chest; simultaneously Rhys lifted his front right paw and aimed to sweep it behind her front left leg, at the lower joint, and hook the limb towards him.
