Determined to rid himself of his entry level ranking in Elysium Rhysand found himself sauntering through the Battlefield once again. The only way he was going to advance was to hone in those preexisting but very raw fighting skills. The male was a decent fighter with speed and height on his side, but he knew he had a long journey to becoming the best he can be. The young and ambitious Wolf envisioned himself to be quite the warrior some day with the ability to obliterate anyone foolish enough to get in his way. But, once again, that was a long ways away... Rhysand selected one of the many well used fighting rings and positioned himself on one side of the circle. Green eyes took in the landscape before him to ensure he was alone before tossing his head into the air. A challenge filled the air, beckoning anyone with the desire to spar to him. Rhys rolled his shoulders and shook out as he awaiting the arrival of his opponent.

Winter is most definitely the absolute worst season of the year. Being a barnyard animal, Oscar is not built for the long, cold, snowy winters in the northern reaches. However, everyone else in his herd is, which means that the small donkey is doomed to freeze his ass year after year. Sometimes he strays down toward the southern lands so that he can feel his short legs for a small amount of time before returning to his herd. Thankfully, the herd’s predator, Taiga, will snuggle up to him and share her warmth. Still, the ass doesn’t mind traveling out of the snow even if it is only for a few hours.
Nugget, the donkey’s rooster companion, sits perched on Oscar’s rump, feathers fluffed out and on high alert as the pair skirt the battlefield. The small ass knows that wolves often come here to spar or for challenges of… some sort. Honestly, the complexity of wolves and their packs escapes the prey animal but, since there is now a pack in their northern lands, the donkey should try to learn. As he thinks about it, a call for a sparring partner rings across the blood stain field and Oscar hesitates. Should he answer?
With a glance at Nugget, the ass decides to give it a shot and his hooves carry him into the battle stained place. Nostrils flare as he pulls into a trot, eager to find the wolf and try his hoof at battle, the donkey soon spies a cream and slate wolf. Oscar slows as he flashes a wide grin that shows off his flat teeth. Stopping across from the male, the donkey cocks a brow and, in thick Irish tones, asks, “You called?” He waits for the wolf’s reaction, wondering if he will be as gobsmacked as so many of the wolves in these lands seem to be when they meet a talking prey animal. Long ears flick as Nugget clucks toward the stranger, fluffing his feathers out further in preparation for a fight.

Rhysand came from a land littered with mostly naturally adorned Wolves. Occasionally a litter would be hit a deformity or two. Thus, upon coming to these new lands it has been quite interesting to stumble into so many oddities. Wolves with two heads, horns, extremely long pelts, and even feline paws. Each time he encountered one of these mutants he was shocked and now in a pack full of them he was slowly warming to their strange decorations. But, what came clomping his way to meet his call was not something that he had expected. The strangeness just seems to have no bounds. Pale green eyes took in the sight of the Ass as it m oved his way. Rhys raised a brow at the display before him. The Donkey stopped a polite distance away and offered a couple of words while a Rooster flared up at it's side. Was this meant to be his opponent? Rhysand had been expecting some sort of monstrosity of a Wolf with massive teeth and an extra eye... But this... This was beyond his imagination. Why would a Donkey want to fight a Wolf? Honestly Rhys didn't want to utilize anymore brainpower for the situation so he merely nodded, "You answered." His tone was gruff and impatient. On queue his Red-Tailed Eagle companion named Bala soared down and flapped to a halt behind Rhys. She was off to the side and had that fierce gaze set upon the Rooster. As if silently challenging the subjectively inferior barn bird. Rhys offered the Eagle a side glance before bringing himself into a fighting stance. "I wish you luck, Donkey." Green eyes slipped into ravenous slits as the pale Wolf charged forward. He'd have to mind the Donkey's hooves, he knew they could do an insane amount of damage. His attacks would need to be swift. As the distance between them closed Rhys quickly turned towards his opponent's right. The Wolf aimed to slip past the large creature and connect a bite to it's back right leg at the upper thigh. The wolf raises a brow at his approach and Oscar’s smirk widens. Nugget flares his feathers as an eagle circles over-head. The prey bird does not like the big bad predator in the sky but the ass pays little mind to his companion’s worry. They exchange words and the donkey dips his head in agreement, the wolf’s impatient and gruff tone earns him a quirked brow and nothing more. Sure, it may seem stupid that a couple of barnyard animals are taking on two predators but he does have a good reason. Know thy enemy and all that jazz.
As the wolf wishes him luck, Oscar dips his head and replies simply, “Ay. And the same to you, wolf.” Another flash of flat teeth as the Nugget seizes up the eagle, intent to fight the creature and only them. Perched on the donkey’s ass, the rooster lowers its body and readies himself to spring at the eagle as soon as it gets close enough. The wolf rushes forward and it is obviously wary of his hooves. The donkey stays still, waiting to see what its first attack will be.
The wolf aims a bite toward his back, right leg and Oscar acts instantly, weight shifts into his front hooves and the right leg that is being attacked, lifts before the bite can land. It is suddenly sent hurtling toward the wolf’s face and his back end lifts slightly as Oscar aims his hoof toward the wolf’s face in an effort to make it back off. As his rump lifts, the rooster sees his opportunity and reacts.
Launching himself into the air from his perch on Oscar’s butt, Nugget aims himself toward the eagle while flapping his wings vigorously. Talons and spurs flash toward the female as Nugget aims to try and grab ahold of the eagle and drag her to the ground with him.

As Rhysand rushed in it was very clear his assault would not go as planned. Green eyes witnessed the Donkey shift his weight onto front hooves. Rhys knew one of those rear hooves had his face written on them, thus he altered his plan of action. As the Donkey lifted his hinds into the air Rhys jolted to the side, digging his paws into the earth. Scrambling to miss the hoof the Wolf dipped down and dove under the belly of the barn beast. In attempt to distance himself from those dangerous hind legs Rhysand rushed towards the back of the Donkey's front left leg, aiming snapping teeth at the lower portion of the limb. All the while the Wolf and Donkey brawled it out the birds began their dance. Bala spread her wings in effort to intimidate Nugget as he launched himself at her. The Eagle narrowed it's eyes as it seemed her efforts were for naught. She began to flap her wings as the distance between them closed but the Rooster still managed to grab hold of one. The Eagle was dragged to the ground but not without her trying to grab hold of one of the Rooster's wings with her beak and talon's moving to grab hold of Nugget's tiny ankle. Hooves are no joke and the wolf seems to understand that. Oscar’s tail slaps side to side as his rump lifts, leg striking out and missing Rhysand. His opponent dips underneath, avoiding the hoof, while diving underneath his belly. Instinct takes over as his tail snaps underneath, trying to cover his genitals from any attacks. Hooves strike the ground repeatedly as the ass begins to buck; his front end lifting slightly before plunging back toward the ground and sending his back end up high. The donkey feels the wolf’s teeth graze his hind left leg and he brays in alarm, aiming to turn his body and sit on the attacking creature. Not the most glamourous of a pin attempt but it works.
Meanwhile, the birds fight, Nugget aiming pecks at the eagle’s face in an attempt to get it to release him. Wings strike out at the enemy bird, as the rooster does everything it can to force the eagle away.
