Bright the morning

With lambing season - the late winter and early spring - in full swing, it was a busy time for Corbie and those of the pack who cared for the sheep. It put a larger burden as well on the members who had other responsibilities, because they had to pick up the slack in ordinary daily tasks for the shepherds. That was why morning found a tired Corbie in the barn trying to reorganize the supplies there that had been rather haphazardly and shambolically strewn about as they dug through at various times for things needed for lambings. It wasn't a onerous task, but it was tedious, and she didn't want to leave it for someone else to have to do when they could have been patrolling the borders or crafting. A sudden sound caught her attention and she looked up from her task, blinking, to see who was there.
