Víðarr longed for a distraction from his heavy heart. His departure was on the horizon, though he wouldn't be leaving quite yet. Not until the season's end. Daily life within the band needed to continue, and he was still an important part of it. Normal things. Keeping an eye on the pups, keeping an eye on camp. Teasing Cyanide for her garbage attitude. Making sure he was available for whoever wanted or needed to learn something new. Víðarr had taken himself off of scouting duties, opting to spend more time hands on, with family. Most importantly, he would still be hunting. So many little mouths to feed, and ravenous appetites they all had.
Tracking prey has long been one of the shadow's strong suits. There was something on the wind, this early afternoon. Víðarr comes just close enough to see his quarry as it comes into focus through the valley. A glint in his eye and excitement in his step, the shadow is so incredibly pleased when he lays eyes on it-- the buffalo herd. They must be migrating for the season, looking a bit tired. A bit worn. A bit like they'd make a damn good meal. With a springy sort of excitement in his step, Víðarr makes sure he's far enough away before he casts a call back to the band. It was time to hunt. They would eat well, extremely well, tonight.

Come down, come down sweet reverence
With spring in full swing and summer slowly stretching toward the horizon, Jynn moved back into Boreas where she could enjoy the warmth of the season on her fur. She was strolling through the valley when she caught sight of a herd of bison. She eyed them for a moment before shifting her course, having no desire to get squashed and hunting the large creatures hadn't even crossed her mind til her jaguar, Sævor, came up along side her and bumped her shoulder. She followed the cat's line of sight to spy a dark-pelted wolf. A moment later he called for other's to join him. Jynn had a pretty good idea that he was speaking to some specific wolves. Wolves that weren't her, but being a loner meant being an opportunist and she slinked through the grass toward the man, giving a soft bark to alert him to her presence. "Would you take on additional help in return for a meal?"

She hadn’t planned on leaving the den that day. It was supposed to be a day for her to relax with the pups and not worry about the band. That had all been going to plan until those pups had gotten on her last nerve. Delphi kept pulling on Hotate’s ears which results in Hotate trying to smack her back which then resulted in Aji jumping in to defend the little runt. The three never seemed to stop bickering! Her saving grace had been the echoing call from Vidarr. Oh, she could kiss him! Quick to leave the pups with Cy, Zoey, and Ulmaria, Celeste made off toward Vidarr. She didn’t care what they were hunting as long as she was moving. She made it soon, right after a loner slid up beside them. A smile graces her lips as she looks to the other girl. “He would never turn anyone away,” Cel chimes in as she winks to Vidarr. “So what’re we hunting??” She asks as she shifts her weight, eager to get a move on. |
