It felt like an age since she had felt this sand between her toes. The playground of her childhood stood abandoned and in disrepair and she didn't anticipate the sigh that fell from her lips. The shrine still smelled of Pontifex, and she would have to wander over that way soon, but for now, she just wanted to mosey around, to see what was left behind.
Sure she'd realised some time ago that Ashen had moved. She couldn't figure out where to, but she wasn't really in the mood for long trips away from home either. The white birds cooed overhead as her eyes turned towards the jungle that was Inu island, and the black rock that signified the other, more difficult to reach island. She'd never made it that far away from the shrine. Her tail gave a thoughtful flick, it was warm enough. Maybe it was worth the swim just to sate her childhood curiousity?

Gil followed Modesty at a lazy pace. A few steps behind the long-legged beauty, he enjoyed the view until she stopped on the shores of the bird filled island. His brow quirked in curiosity as he watched her stand there. Was it weird being here for her? Unlike Modesty, he had no attachment to anywhere so the emotions were lost on him. Still, he would be there for his mate no matter what.
Drawing closer to her, he pressed against her side and laid his head over her neck. “We could go for a swim,” he murmurs as he lets his tail swish behind him and against her back legs. “Or we could do something a little more fun,” Gil lets his voice drop into a husky whisper as he pulls his head back and then reaches to tug on the tuft growing from her ear.

At the tug to her ear she allowed her head to be turned, leaning into her mates side heavily with a grumble laced snicker. She had never been much of a one for competition, usually too focused on keeping herself looking her best, but she couldn't help the way the black rock in the distance was tugging at her. “They were here for so long, they couldn't have taken everything with them. There might be treasure.” She teased. Some of the bridges were still in place, though some boards had been washed away and the ropes were in disrepair. A sly smile crossed her face. “How about a race? Winner chooses the prize...” She punctuated her challenge with a suggestive flick of her tail but didn't wait for his response before charging towards the rickety structure. She hoped if it was going to fall to pieces it would do so behind her. Even once she made it across, the was still a long run along the beach and then a challenging swim to the jagged black peaks that stood between them and the cove. Had she bitten off more than she could chew?

Gilgamesh wanted to give Modesty anything and everything she wanted. He knew that he had been slacking on the whole wedding thing, but with the new chapter of the Raiders soon coming to fruition, he knew he would be able to give her that soon. And he hoped, as he looked around the beach, that he could also give her the archipelago. Some might think that claiming the islands and the isle wasn’t a smart tactic, but he frankly didn’t care. He saw how she looked around, that look in her eyes told him how much she missed this place. He wanted to offer it to her but as she leaned away and offered a race, he quickly wasn’t given the opportunity to do so. Instead, a fire lit in his belly as her tail flicked toward his face. A smirk lingered on his lips as he took off after her. Not too quickly at first because ya know, gotta take a look when you get the chance. Once his eyes had had their fill of her beauty, he picked up his speed and began to run across the bridge. His paws would quickly stumble and fall through deteriorated boards. Slipping and feeling his chin slam into the planks, he let out a groan. God damn this bridge needed some work. Getting up as quickly as he could manage and shaking himself off, he leaped over as much of the bridge as he could in hopes of catching up to her. There was still plenty of beach left which meant he could still win! Right? ”Speech” ’Thought’ |
