It's a Snap!

He was going around collecting materials to make a snare to try and trap one of the many prey creatures that wandered around the Rock Garden. There seemed to be an explosion of creatures lately, and he noticed it first with the abundance of rabbits that sat around the area. Some were undisturbed by his presence, at least, until he got too close before they darted off several yards just to stop and watch him with beady black eyes. Not only that, but deer seemed to be abundant, too. Whatever the reason, there was plenty to choose from, and it would be a lot easier to catch a multitude of them with a few traps. A snare for the rabbits perhaps. Maybe a small pit trap for a deer to break a leg. He was sure whatever route he took, he was sure to catch something. He carried a small bundle of good sized sticks he had collected from the island and dropped them beneath a hefty boulder so he could work under the shade. The scent of rabbit was strong, and he guessed that he was practically on top of a warren. Grabbing one of the sticks, he began to carefully whittle away at the end of one with his longer canines, attempting to sharpen it into a point. |
