Smiling Crocodile

All tasks Kotori needed to do were dealt with for now. Aslatiel had agreed to keep an eye on Valta while Kotori ran off to Auster to look for Ochitsuki. Everything was all planned out. Now, while Kotori was normally all for fighting predators but this time he actually had intended to not pick a fight with anything.
Kotori had paused at the lake, lapping up some water when he suddenly proved how fast he could back peddle. A large crocodile came out of the river, snapping its jaws down where Kotori had just been. Wolf was on the giant reptile’s dinner plans! Hell, no Kotori wasn’t going to be someone’s food.
Kotori was most assuredly faster than the crocodile and could easily have fled but there was a difference between avoiding a fight and the damaged pride that would come from fleeing an attack. Of all the creatures to fight, these long-scaled slow brutes were the most awkward. There was also no doubt that the snout and tail of the animal weren’t to be underestimated.
Kotori backed up slowly, not to flee or hesitate but only making sure I followed to get it further out of the water. The wolf’s odds were much better if they both fought on dry land.

A walk along the river seemed like a peaceful enough way to get a look at some of the lands that surrounded Valta's territory–or at least he thought it would be until he spotted Kotori up ahead of him seemingly squared off with some kind of attacker. Curious and always willing to lend a paw in a fight, he picked up the pace to catch up to his alpha and as he got closer he got a better look at the long, scaled reptile that was crawling out of the water with it's jaws wide and hissing at the Fatalis man. Well, that was certainly an interesting opponent! Ciná had never fought a crocodile before, but there was always a first time for everything.
Taking a quick look around, he spotted a fallen branch near by and he made a quick detour to grab it before bounding over to join Kotori. If nothing else he could at least assume that he wouldn't want to get too close to this thing and getting something to occupy its jaws was probably a good start. As soon as he was near enough he flung the branch at the crocodile's open jaws and almost as if it was a reflex for the aquatic predator the sharp teeth snapped down around it, making the wood splinter. That was his opening and he lunged forward, pouncing with both paws on top of the reptile's long snout and pinning it down. Surprisingly, even though its bite had seemed incredibly strong, it did seem to struggle to get out from under him or to reopen its mouth which worked out swimmingly for them.

Kotori spotted the red wolf coming up even s he lured the crocodile another step further onto the land. When he’d spotted him running with wood in his mouth Kotori’s first thought had been it would be used as some sort of jabbing weapon. Instead, it was used as a target for the crocodile to bite.
Kotori used the chance to run around to the left side of the crocodile. What surprised him was the crocodile not thrashing Cin right off of him. Well, perhaps this one was just especially dumb? Kotori gave the situation a second glance to make sure he was safe for his first attack. He remembered the awkward-looking creatures could be remarkably fast with twisting their body. Kotori lowered his head, lunging in and slamming his horns into the crocodile's body. His teeth likely couldn’t get through those armor scales well but his horns managed to puncture through. Unfortunately, not as easy as he would of liked. Bears and cats he could jab easily and then slash but the crocodile armor wasn’t going to let him easily slash through it.
A tail swung out absurdly fast and Kotori leaped over the alligator, getting on its right side to avoid the tail. Kotori was willing to bet if he attacked the same spot again he could do more damage.

Ciná held on to the crocodile's jaws as tightly as he could, certainly not wanting to become the now splintered and broken wood he had used to distract the reptile for a moment. That severely limited what else he could do in the fight, but keeping the crocodile contained and unable to bite felt like a worthy cause while Kotori handled the rest. The Valta leader jabbed at their opponent with his horns which the large predator didn't take too kindly to. Even though the creature's hide was thick and scaly, it seemed like Kotori at least hurt it enough for it to take notice and it started to thrash harder and whip it's tail back and forth in some attempt to reach its attacker with some kind of retaliation. Ciná pressed down harder on its snout to make sure it couldn't get away, his claws gripping and trying to find leverage on the slightly slick skin. "I can probably try to get it flipped onto it's back if you help me," he called to Kotori. "The belly is probably easier to puncture than the top!" He waited to see if Kotori wanted to go that route, at the ready to grab the Crocodile's head and turn if Kotori helped him get some leverage.

Crocodiles were a damn pain. Maybe he should have just avoided this thing after all. Nah. He just couldn’t walk away from a good fight opportunity. Before he moved in for a second jab he heard Cinaed’s suggestion and gave the red wolf a nod in agreement.
Kotori kept a wary eye on the tail as it settled as if the croc was waiting for their next move. It didn’t seem the sort to expend lot of energy but then again all it needed was one good shot to win the battle where the wolves had to do more work. It was just waiting for a chance. Bastard wasn’t going to get it.
“Now,” Kotori stated when he was ready. These things certainly were heavy. Kotori bunched up his muscles, feet braced as he helped flip the giant lizard onto its back. He started using his horns to try and lift up, but once the croc was up far enough Kotori got his shoulder involved, pushing it far easier that way.
The moment they had it upside down Kotori slammed his horns into the belly, the sharp points sliding in far easier than on the scaley topside had been. Slashing up he jerked the horns out of the softer flesh, biting into the same spot he’d slashed open, doing as much damage as he could with his teeth. Now they could get to the important vitals.
