While he had mostly adjusted his sleeping schedule to match the late night, nocturnal schedule of his fiancée's family, every once in a while he had a difficult time sleeping during the day and found himself wandering and exploring to pass the time. It had been a long time since he had been down to Auster, probably not since his last attempt at making contact with his brother, so he made his way down south across the Bifrost to the currently cooler weather of the southern continent. He had to skirt around the borders of The Hallows a bit to follow along the shore and avoid trespassing even though he was sure he wouldn't get in that much trouble with their allied pack if he happened to step over a boundary by a few feet in his effort to get around the pack. They seemed to be a friendly bunch.

Still, he eventually made his way along the shore until he made it to a portion of the beach that seemed to be more tide pools than sand. Curious, he picked his way through the pools, walking on the sand dunes that separated them, and started to peek into the pools themselves to see if there was anything good to be had. He wasn't really prepared to carry anything back with him today since he didn't think to bring a bag or anything to carry fish or crustations in, but it was good to know for later. Now that Ashen was closer to the Bifrost trips to Auster weren't so strenuous. He was distracted for a moment as he watched a fish swimming in one of the smaller pools, but a sharp pinch on his paw quickly pulled his attention back as he cursed under his breath, yanking his paw up to find a small crab dangling from it. "Fucking crabs..." he muttered to himself as he winced and shook the crab off of his paw with a sigh, sending the little sea critter flying.
