Treacherous Lands

The more he explored the lands that surrounded Ashen's home, the more he came to the conclusion that they truly were in a pocket of lovely land in the midst of uninhabitable areas. The desert was a pretty obvious one, but in his wanderings he found himself in a barren landscape of rolling hills where not even the trees looked like they had any life. It wasn't exactly a fun place to be–at least not from what he could see so far–but it was still good to know what mysteries were around them. The caves he saw dotting this place in particular seemed like they might be hiding something and it was better that they at lest be aware of them. Curious, he found a fairly large opening and peered into the darkness. It was difficult to see, but up ahead he could see a few beams of sunlight peering through holes from up above. With a hum he started cautiously making his way forward, keeping an eye out for any crumbling rock or signs that it might be unstable as he went.
