"Maybe I’ll learn how to fly…"

The island was covered in soft flecks of snow as they fell. Ruby had wandered over in hopes it would be a quiet place to relax. Plans were moving forward and she couldn’t stop now. Her son was off preparing as well and while she didn’t particularly think she needed to do anything getting a lay of the land was the best option. Escape routes, places to hide, perhaps even good ambush areas. Eradication sounded nice to her, no matter who it was.

Ruby shook herself off on the shore. Staring at the trees of all kinds that covered the island. A few lacked leaves given the winter season but quite frankly she supposed it was a place worth exploring. She paced on the shore for a moment, listening to the chilly waters as her fur dried in the sun. Soon she’d have to find something to eat but surely that couldn’t be too hard here. If only Req was here to hunt for her.

Out past the thicket, Delphi wandered. Close enough to the cliffs that she could see the decent sized island not far off of mainland. As of late, she’d taken to staying close to pack lands, but today, the island intrigued her. For how much of the thicket she had taken from already, it was time she found a different place to scour her berries and plants from.

Picking her way down the cliff’s thin trails, Delphi made her way to the beach. While she was no swimmer, it appeared the waters would be gentle today. The sun shone through wintry clouds as she paddled with some effort. Nearly exhausted by the time she made her way onto shore, she quickly shook herself off to help rid of some of the chill.

As she ended her full-body shake off, her ears picked up the sound of someone else. Her eyes instantly move to the woman who is not far down the beach. Apprehensive curiosity fills her expression as she hesitates. Should she trust to approach a stranger? Or keep her distance? Focusing on what she came here to do would be the smart decision, but if she could get someone to work for her…

Ruby had not expected some sort of entertainment to step into her ring. Then she reminded herself she was keeping a low profile besides perhaps the child lived near here. The pup stunk of a pack and Ruby for once wanted to avoid attention.

She kept her distance but got closer to the unknown child. A soft smile like usual on her face. "Excuse me, you wouldnt happen to know if this island is occupied by anyone would you?" she tilted her head. No harm just a lonely mother trying to get a lay of the land.

Delphi was still hesitating on whether she should approach the stranger when she noticed the stranger approaching her. Stopping in her tracks, Delphi watches her with apprehension. Ears flicked back slightly and fur slightly bristled around her scruff as she sees that soft smile appear on the woman’s face. Why was she looking at her like that? Delphi’s brow scrunches as she grows suspicious.

“Why d’ya think I would know that?” Delphi snaps back as she feels her heart rate pick ups lightly. Her muscles are tense, ready to bolt if need be. “Can’t ya smell? Clearly no pack scent here,” she adds on, keeping her place now with her paws digging into the sand and the chilly sea breeze pressing against her cheeks.

She scowled in surprise. Though being so small Ruby couldn’t expect the pup to not be scared of her. Those were some good instincts. "Smells change a lot. Just thought since you live nearby you’d know." she shrugged then smiled again. "Why don’t you explore with me then. I’m sure your pack would be proud if you scouted out this place at your age." she felt the temptation of wanting to take the little girl with her. What kind of parent let their pups run around alone? This was why she hated packs…. Careless.

"My names Valerie. A lonely mother looking for a home for me and my son." that’s all she was. A loner single mother trying to make her way in the world. It felt perfect and definitely a good way to avoid being identified. Ruby rose to her paws, hoping Delphi would accept her offer to explore the island.

Delphi's eyes narrow once more. How did the woman know she lived nearby? The scent of Heidinn on her fur could be a giveaway, but not everyone knew where each pack lived. A thoughtful and suspicious look crossed her face as the stranger offered to go exploring. There was a suggestion of her pack being proud of her scouting. Would Vidarr actually care? "Only a fool would want to make an island their residence," Delphi retorts back with a snort as she takes a step away from the woman. Something about her... gives her a bad vibe.

It is then that the woman introduces herself as Valerie, a lonely mother looking for a home for herself and her son. "So where is he?" Delphi asks quickly, her eyes narrowing as she feels that gut feeling begin to yell at her to leave. "Shouldn't he be helping you look?" The pup asks as her ears begin to fall backward and she takes another hesitant step away.

Ruby sighed, this kid was beginning to tic her off. Her eyes furrowed her smile turning sour as she grew bored of this game. Let her show the kid happens to pups whose parents didn’t keep a leash on them. "On the contrary two empires around here make their homes on islands and groups of them." she corrected the pup coolly. "This is why packs are dangerous though look at you?where the hell are your parents right now?" Ruby took a threatening step forward then turning to face Delphi fully, she was so tiny maybe she could just eat her.

"We’ll that’s none of your business where my precious son is, isn’t it? Let me show you what happens when your parents don’t know how to look after you." the woman lunged then quickly she opened her jaws. Aiming the strike the child over an ear. Her anger rose and she let herself intentionally have the want to take the girls ear. Would she fight back?

Kuroki wasn't exactly a smothering Dad, he was a cool dad. His kids all seemed to like him plenty and that was exactly what he needed, that warm fuzzy feeling in his chest that made it a little easier to sleep at night. What he didn't like was bullies, prissy little bitches who thought picking on kids was a decent pastime. "Oi, watch your mouth you flappy cunted bitch." He wasn't exactly a good parental figure, to no ones surprise but hey! Wasn't it a Dads job to look after their lil ones? And Delphi was awfully little, the littlest. So small he could eat, but in a sweet way, like how he used to nibble at her little tail and say yum yum! "Hey Phi-phi." He cooed, easily stepping in to shoulder check- and none too gently either- the loners attempt at grabbing his daughter. If she took a nip at his shoulder it didn't really bother him, plenty of meat there to take it. "You look cute today, did you do something new with your fur?" He continued, completely ignoring the purple crazy lady, conversation wise at least. The harsh words spitting from the woman's mouth made Delphi sneer. Who did this Valerie think she was?! Pulling up her lips to growl as Valerie faced her and stepped forward, Delphi visibly bristled. It was then that she heard the approach from behind. One quick look over her shoulder had her snarl turning into a grin as the woman continued to insult her. When she looked back and prepared to say something, Oki's long strides had already covered enough ground to step in front of the woman's lunging attack. His own harsh greeting to the loner had her stifling a laugh.

"Hi dada," Delphi cooed back as she leaned into Oki. "Oh, you like it? I think the swim over here helped give it a shine," she joked back, tilting her chin up to smile up at Oki as if he was the best thing in the world. Which, to Delphi and really to everyone else, he was. Oki was the best dad, duh.

Ruby attempted to back away once the adult showed up. This was why she hated pack wolves and she definitely shouldnt have been getting in trouble. An easy growl escaped her throat. "I may be a cunt but maybe teach your kid to be more cautious dick." she snorted. Oh heavens req was not going to be happy with her. Ruby turned away "Let me go and ill never bother you again. Im simply a mother who gets concerned over pups who arent taken care of properly." says the woman who drowned her very first litter....

She tried to make a dash for the water. The quicker she got away from here the better. She hoped that she wouldnt be stopped but she would defend herself if she needed to. Crap! Why was she such an idiot. It filled her with rage, packs could go and die for all she cared.
